Original Promptplease create 5 days of lessons that are each 30 min long for 5th graders learning how to research, find evidence, and explain evidence
This multi-day lesson focuses on the skills required to build strong arguments. The learning objective is for students to identify credible sources, extract relevant evidence, paraphrase information, and construct logical arguments supported by evidence. Each day has a specific focus, beginning with how to differentiate between credible and non-credible sources, followed by finding and evaluating relevant evidence, and finally constructing and articulating arguments using the Claim, Evidence, Reasoning (CER) method. Students will engage in practical activities to assess various sources, locate evidence, quote and paraphrase information, and ultimately create well-structured argument paragraphs. A challenge task is provided each day to further enhance their understanding and application of the concepts learned.
