Emphasizing hands-on learning, the curriculum is designed to build confidence and independence among students. Key learning outcomes include understanding food nutrition and planning economical meals, as well as recognizing the importance of consumer awareness and good health practices. The Junior Cycle curriculum integrates various areas such as Healthy Eating, Food Preparation, Sustainability, and Textiles, encouraging students to engage in collaborative projects and practical assessments. Transition Year extends these concepts, allowing students to delve deeper into creativity and teamwork through themed projects and entrepreneurship. The Leaving Certificate course covers Food Studies, Resource Management, and Social Studies, offering students skills applicable to careers in nutrition, education, hospitality, and beyond. This comprehensive approach equips students with transferable skills and a robust foundation for future endeavors, including opportunities in hospitality and tourism through the practical Leaving Certificate Applied programme.
