This educational resource focuses on exploring turtles, their unique characteristics, anatomy, and conservation. Students will learn about the classification of turtles as reptiles, identifying their distinct features such as the carapace and plastron. The document encourages critical thinking through the 'See - Think - Wonder' routine, whereby students observe a turtle, contemplate the purpose of its shell pattern, and express their curiosities. A comparative analysis is provided between sea turtles and land tortoises, examining their adaptations for aquatic and terrestrial lifestyles. Moreover, the life cycle of sea turtles—from nesting to growth—is outlined, alongside the challenges they face, particularly regarding plastic pollution. Students reflect on the importance of conservation by engaging in structured reading support questions and summarizing the life cycle stages.
