This set of 24 task cards is over the area model to solve division equations. This allows students one strategy to draw the model of the division equation which meets the Common Core Standard. Task cards: They can be laminated or paper copy to write on, table scoot, homework, game board cards, or team problem solving. They can also be used in a building thinking classroom. There are three types of questions which are marked in the bottom right corner with a snap cube. One snap cube is a type one (mild) question – area model given for them to solve (medium) question – equation given, and students make an area model to solve, and three snap cubes is a type three (spicy) question – word problems and students solve utilizing area model and there are two multi-step equations. There are so many options to use them with. There is a free game board located in my store, Sprout & Thrive.
This product is intended to be used in a classroom modeled after Peter Liljedahl’s book Building Thinking Classrooms in Mathematics.
