Ghost by Jason Reynolds Shoe Project

After reading Ghost by Jason Reynolds, give your students a creative end-of-the-unit outlet to show how well they comprehended the themes, meanings, and connections in the novel!

Ghost’s shoes represent much more than the fact that they are merely a pair of shoes. For this project, students will create a visual representation of Ghost’s old pair of shoes and the “silver bullets.”

Requirements:

  1. Be creative!
  2. Be neat!
  3. Clearly state what each pair of shoes mean to him and how they are represented.
  4. Show what they learned from this story:
  • Theme
  • Make connections
  • ANYTHING ELSE YOU CAN THINK OF :)

Rubric:

Creativity = 30 pts.

Neatness = 10 pts.
