These fun and engaging posters aim to foster independence and autonomy in the French Immersion classroom for your young K-2 students. Posters are used as visual cues and reminders of morning routines helping students to do things on their own. Ideal for the Kindergarten to Grade 2 classroom.

I use these posters in my cubby area as a visual checklist for students each day as they arrive. I also post visual cues for work time with the order of operations for each task. 1. write your name, 2. colour, 3. cut, 4. glue, and 5. raise your hand. The order is for you to choose.

When my students are brand new to cutting and pasting into scrapbooks they: write their name, cut, raise their hand (so I can check before they glue), glue, and then colour. It’s entirely up to you!

Posters include:

Each poster great graphics so students can easily associate the picture with the action. Clear step by step instructions. Regular sized poster so you can copy and go, or larger sized numbers and cards for placing into pocket charts.

With this template, you will be able to insert 15 questions as well as insert an answer key into this conditionally formatted template that will do the grading for you automatically. This is a scavenger hunt using task cards that is based on the key figures that helped to abolish slavery and are studied in the 4th grade curriculum. Students will read about Harriet Tubman, Frederick Douglass, Samuel Cornish, William Lloyd Garrison, Sojourner Truth, John Brown, Abraham Lincoln, Susan B. Anthony and Harriet Beecher Stowe. This activity will have students reading about how each individual aided the abolition movement. Check out the preview to see what each task card entails. Students will need to walk around the room reading the task cards. Each task card has a code word on the bottom which is the answer to the question/fill in the blank. The answer will NOT be found on that same task card. For example, the answer to task card #1 is found by reading the passage on task card #8. Students MUST record which task card they found the answer on in their answer sheet under the “FOUND CARDS #” column. That column will be used at the end for the 4 digit lock code. They will follow the clues to find the correct 4 digit code.

This activity would be a great review before assessments, as a center activity, a group activity, etc. Students will be engaged with the learning while having a fun time trying to solve all of the clues!

A word search puzzle worksheet that can be used to supplement your unit on First Americans. This can be used for morning work or when introducing your unit to students.
