BUILD RESILIENCE with Coping Strategies for ACEs - Explore Displacement Now

This resource includes 44 scenario cards which explores different experiences of displacement.
The scenarios explain why the displacement happened and explores the child’s feelings and emotions associated with their experience.
For each scenario, coping strategies are discussed to support that child in that situation. A question is posed at the end of the scenario to encourage students to reflect on that unique situation.
Additionally, a letter has been included that can be used for students who have experienced displacement. The letter validates and acknowledges the child's feelings and emotions and provides compassion and reassurance.
These scenario cards can support children who have experienced displacement first hand by reassuring them that they are not alone and that despite how difficult the situation is, there is always hope and support.
Students may resonate to the situation and feelings of the scenario and can reflect on how others have used strategies to cope.

This resource encourages students to move outside their default thinking style and helps them self-reflect and move towards a more rounded and robust viewpoint. This is a great resource for teenagers with anger management, conflict resolution, limited personal insight and emotional regulation difficulties.
