French Possessive Pronouns - 60 practice cards

These practice cards provide a different way for students to practice French possessive pronouns. Each card shows a short sentence using a possessive adjective followed by a noun. There is then a prompt for students to restate the sentence replacing the adjective and noun with a pronoun. All cards are numbered, and this makes it easy for students to work in pairs or small groups along with the numbered answer key. There are lots of examples using possessive pronouns in French and English included in my video lesson (here's the link to my free lesson).

These cards are included in my possessive pronouns bundle.

You can either use the cards online or project them without printing (1 per page) or you can print them and cut them out to have a handy sets ready to use year after year (4 per page).

I'm including one set WITH hints. This set will be a little easier than the other because the definite articles are included:

These Spanish Task Cards are geared towards spring activities, vacations and events. Situation Task Cards are a great way to get your Spanish 1, 2, 3 and 4 students talking and using language creatively!  (These are generic enough to be used with any curriculum!)  

There are 20 different scenarios which give students an idea of what to talk about in a story that they make up. The task cards come in 3 versions!  First I have a large scale digital version that can be displayed for the class.  The other version is printable (4 cards per page) and comes in both black and white and an attractive color version. Slides come with helpful vocab that students may need to discuss the scenario.

These spring-themed task cards feature scenarios for present, past and future time frames.  Google Slides can be modified if you need to change something to meet your students’ needs!

Also included is a peer feedback sheet and a self-assessment sheet and a vocab list for spring vocabulary!

• Pair students and have them take turns telling stories based on their scenario

• Use these task cards as multiple versions of a speaking assessment.  This allows for student choice and/or prevents students sharing the exact task for advance preparation.
• These task cards can also be used for writing prompts or assessments!

French subjunctive sentence starters - Subjunctive sentence stems

Printable sentence starter cards for practicing the French subjunctive. Use this set of 30 cards as speaking or writing prompts. Each card begins with a prompt that includes an expression that must be followed by the subjunctive and a verb which has already been conjugated.

Students read the prompts and continue to make complete sentences. If the cards are being used as speaking prompts, partners listen closely and react with sentences of their own (not necessarily using the subjunctive). The idea is to give students the occasion to use the subjunctive in meaningful context without worrying whether they need the subjunctive or not, and without worrying about how to correctly conjugate the verbs.

➤ Students who finish their work earlier than others can choose a few of the cards and write out their answers including reasons for their preferences.

French Decodable Sentence Strips are interactive French activity cards to promote decoding and encoding skills aligned with the Science of Reading (la conscience phonologique) in the French Immersion K-2 classroom. This resource is designed to optimize learning, develop independent learning strategies, and boost student confidence in the classroom. Cultivate a love of learning French with these fun and exciting sentence strips!

How to use this resource:

Make a few copies of each card and insert into clear pockets to create a quick and easy reading centre; arrange a table with four copies to create a quiet reading group; use one-on-one with your students to assess reading levels, to gain insights to their decoding skills, encoding skills, and to inform your upcoming lesson plans. Students use whiteboard markers to sound out each sound in the word, each syllable, or each word in the sentence. What a great way to build confidence! Whatever way you choose to use this resource, I am so grateful that you have given this item a try!

Science of Reading:

These sentence strips are aligned with sounds being taught in any Science of Reading aligned curriculum. They are set up for student success based on the research for increasing reading fluency and building student confidence in the classroom!

Once you have established the strategies for identifying sounds, initial sounds, and blending sounds, segmenting sounds, students will be able to use these self-driven sentence strips on their own. What a great way to build learning autonomy!

What does the resource contain?

Target sound for this resource is 'Le Son UI'

-5 pages with 2 sentences each with focus on the UI sound

-tapping boxes for students to tap and map each word in the sentence

-space to write the sentence out themselves once they have decoded and segmented the words/sentence

-5 additional cards without boxes for students to work on their own

-each page can be cut in half to make 10 separate sentence strips

-just laminate and go!

Who can use this resource:

French Immersion teachers in the K-3 classroom and those teaching beginner French students. Can be used at the Grade 4-6 level with Core French students learning to segment and blend complex sounds.

What grade level:

I personally use these texts with Grade 1 and Grade 2 students in French Immersion. I feel confident that students from K-3 will find these most useful and teachers can come back to the texts with any students who may be experiencing challenges in their French reading skills. Core French teachers will be sure to add the resource to their repertoire for Grades 4 to 6 as they learn to read and write at the Junior level.

Scenario Task Cards are a great, NO PREP way to get your Spanish 2, 3 and 4 students speaking or writing and using language creatively! They have open-ended prompts for students to use while speaking or writing.  (These are generic enough to be used with any curriculum!)  

There are 20 different scenarios which give students an idea of what to talk about in a story that they make up. The task cards come in 3 versions!  First I have a large scale digital version that can be displayed for the class.  The other version is printable (4 cards per page) and comes in both black and white and an attractive color version. French Relative Composed Pronouns - LEQUEL - AUQUEL - DUQUEL

This set of 35 cards will help upper-level French students practice using relative composed pronouns. Each card has a fill in the blank sentence to complete. The cards are numbered so that students can work individually, with partners, or in small groups while checking their own work using the numbered answer key. All you have to do is print as many sets of the cards that you'll need, and cut them out. If you can laminate them, you'll have these cards ready to pull out and use year after year. Do you prefer a paperless version? Just project the PDF with only one card per page for a whole class activity or share it with students to use on their computers, tablets, or phones. This is a set of 32 French relative pronouns task cards to review QUI - QUE - OÙ - DONT - CE QUE - CE QUI - CE DONT. Task cards are a nice alternative to classic worksheets. Each card contains a fill in the blank sentence with multiple choice answers.

Students can either review individually, with a partner, or you can use the cards as a whole class activity. A student response sheet is provided if you would like your students to write their answers, and I've also included a classic worksheet version that could be used as a quiz. These task cards provide a quick review activity. Just print, laminate (if possible) and cut out. I like to punch holes in the upper left corner and attach the cards with a ring. You will be able to use these cards for years to come.

A classic worksheet is also provided in case you would like to use it as a quiz or homework assignment.
