When the class reaches the larger continents such as Europe, Asia, and Africa, it is suggested that the instructor assess the student in sections or regions before assessing them over the entire continent. This will allow students to learn a sections/regions of countries at a time rather than overwhelming students with learning the entire continent at once.

Firstly, there are five close reading activities, or informational texts, about:
These activities require NO PREP and have a body of text that students need to read through thoroughly; then they can use the text to find the comprehension and grammar answers. All texts then have an extension activity for those fast finishers. Answers, for teacher use, are on the final page of each document.
Secondly, there are two biography writing units about Cleopatra and Tutankhamun. The units have been split into four separate lessons which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes each.
Then, there is a great classroom display and sorting activity that is perfect for introducing students to some of the key events of Ancient Egypt. There are 30 posters or task cards that include many of the key events and periods from the period. The posters look great as a display in the classroom and the cards are a brilliant introduction to Ancient Egypt. The displays and cards come both with dates and without dates, so the students can research the dates online before sorting the timeline. The cards look even better when laminated.
Then, there is an informational text writing unit about Ancient Egypt. The unit has also been split into four separate lessons which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes each.
Finally, there is a discussion based writing unit discussing who is the greatest leader from Ancient Egypt. The unit has been split into four separate lessons which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes each.

Ancient Mesopotamia Escape Room Activity Bundle | 5th Grade & 6th Grade

Four individual Ancient Mesopotamia Escape Room activities about the following famous figures or periods from history:
Ideal for fifth grade or sixth grade, the activities are perfect for group work, starting a new ancient history topic, team-building activities or for fun, engaging and interactive lessons. The activities can be used in English also as they incorporate some ELA skills, or in Social Studies.
Each activity has been split into four different tasks; your students will need to complete each of the tasks to reveal a word. Together the four words make a phrase for them to escape the room.

In Task 1 of each activity students will read an informational text and then find their way through a maze by answering true or false comprehension questions. If they answer the questions correctly they will reveal their first word.
In Task 2 students will use the same informational text to complete a crossword puzzle. Within the puzzle there are several hidden letters which will need to be unscrambled on the completion of the puzzle to reveal the second word.
In Task 3 students will have to cut out 27 timeline task cards before putting them in order from the earliest date to the most recent. When they have finished their task they can glue them onto the answer key which will reveal their third word.
In Task 4 students will have to find the missing words in a wordsearch puzzle before finding a hidden word from the letters that are left over in the puzzle. This hidden word is their fourth and final word.
Students can then complete their student answer key with the four words they revealed before checking with the teacher to see if they have escaped successfully.

Eight great timeline, display, research and sorting activities that are perfect for introducing students to some of the key events the following ancient civilizations:
Great for class work, distance learning or home schooling. Each of the eight individual resources includes posters or task cards that timeline the key events and periods from the ancient civilizations.
The timelines can be used individually to give your students knowledge about one particular civilization, or together to give your students a wide knowledge of how the civilizations interconnected, with key figures and events linking them together in history.
The research and sorting activities are differentiated into two levels: with dates and without dates. Lower level students can sort the events using the dates, whilst higher level students can research the dates online before sorting the timeline.

Stone Age Mega Bundle of Activities | 3rd Grade & 4th Grade

These activities require NO PREP and have a body of text that students need to read through thoroughly; then they can use the text to find the comprehension and grammar answers. All texts then have a teacher presentation, an extension activity, a multiple choice quiz, a crossword and a wordsearch. Answers, for teacher use, are on the final page of each document.
Then, there are two informational writing units about the Stone Age and Stonehenge. The units have been split into four separate lessons which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes each.
Also, there is an opinion writing unit about which was the most important era from the Stone Age: the Paleolithic Era, the Mesolithic Era or the Neolithic Era. This unit has again been split into three or four separate lessons which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes each.
Finally, there is a Stone Ages Timeline Activity and Display. It is perfect for introducing students to the some of the key events and advancements from the period. There are 33 posters or task cards.
