This creative Autumn Tree Collage: Art Unit was designed to be printed and displayed as examples while you teach. Use this Google Slide file to display these beautiful images one-by-one on the big screen. For this assignment, I asked students to make an Autumn Tree Collage celebrating the joy of the Fall season. Students get to choose three of their favorite leaf colors to work with. Students choose where the leaves will be on the branches, falling, blowing around, etc. Students learned cutting, gluing, and placing (overlapping) skills during this 2-to-3-Day Art Unit. Students shared their artworks on display inside the Art Gallery. I hope you and your kiddos love this! Enjoy!

Need an awesome Movement Activity? I have just the thing for you! This creative Conscious Discipline “Breathing Pose” resource was designed to be printed and displayed as examples while you teach. Use this Google Slide file to display these beautiful images one-by-one on a large screen. It is best to use one of these images per day or per week, so these resources can last a while. Focus on the specific animal shown and discuss where this animal would be and how it would breathe and pose to gain focus. Make sure you demonstrate the pose with your class. Ask a student to help demonstrate this pose, and the sillier you are, yet focused, the more the students will want to participate with you in each of these fun and motivating animal breathing poses. • Frighteningly Figurative Language: In the second task, students must identify the figurative language devices used in fun Halloween sentences. Shaded boxes in the correct answers form the second code.
• Halloween Fun Facts: In the third task, students will read 8 fun facts about Halloween and must identify the parts of speech of underlined words within the passages. When matched correctly, shaded boxes will reveal the third code.
• A Child's Nightmare: In the fourth task, students must perform a close reading of Robert Grave's famously chilling poem, A Child's Nightmare. The letters of the multiple choice questions about the poem will form the fourth code.... Cat! Cat! Cat!
• Frightful Fallen Phrase: In the final task, students must complete a fallen phrase that reveals a spooky poem. Once they bring that to you, they may escape the haunted house of horrors.
