In the picture clue set, students look at the picture of the word and then find the corresponding word to color. CVC Blending Cards: CVC Cards in 7 different styles for differentiated learning. Let these cards grow with your students! 85 words covering short a, e, i, o, and u. Each word comes in 7 different styles including phonics dots and arrows, phonics dots, word only, and picture only. Almost 600 cards included! Laminate the picture only cards and have students create the CVC word with dry erase markers or letter manipulatives.

Why Adapted books?

I personally love using adapted books. I have found them to be motivating to even my most reluctant learners. They are a great resource for such a wide range of learners as well as I can easily modify my instruction for the needs of each student.

I have used them with students who are just learning to sit in their seats and follow directions. Adapted books can easily be modified for students by providing less visual options.

I have also used them with student who are reluctant learners. They may already be confident in the skills presented in the books, however benefit from a learning activity they know they will do succeed with. It is a great starting activity!

Do you have a student who is working on identifying "wh" questions? Place a post it note over picture on each page. Read, ask the "wh" question, and your student can check their answer by checking under the post it note.

Once I have my books prepared they are sturdy, easily cleaned & stored. I store mine in a crate that supports hanging folders. They are sorted by topic and easy to grab and go. We use them in stations, with substitutes, my classroom aides, and when student want to read with peers. They are often requested as well!

How are they prepared?

These books do require some prior prep work. Once they have been created however they are able to be used year after year with a variety of students. I generally print, laminate, bind and velcro them so they can be reused. The adaptive books are designed with students ability to interact with learning material. Each book has interactive icons. Students will have options of 8-10 choices for each story.

Before students can learn to write well, they need to build up their fine motor skills. These prewriting lines give students practice with tracing skills and pencil control to help them before better writers. There are two sets of tracing line with 52 cards each (for a total of 104 cards) with a variety of tracing lines including curves, loops, zig zags and more!

These tracing cards give students practice with handwriting by having them trace a variety of lines. They help guide students to follow the line from left to right to mimic how students will eventually learn to write words and sentences and these lines allow students to practice pen control.

There are two sets of cards in each:

• The first set has a decorative boarder where you can print on white paper.
• The second set has no border so you can print on colored paper and save on ink!

These alphabet clip cards are the perfect way for preschoolers and kindergartners to practice letter recognition and matching capital and lowercase letters. Students can also practice building fine motor skills by using clips to mark each letter.

What is Included:

There are 4 clip cards for each letter of the alphabet. Activities include matching the capital letter to a matching capital letter, matching a lowercase letter to the matching lowercase letter and matching capital letters with the correct lowercase letters.

How to Use:

Students will take one clip card, look at the letter on each card and then clip the letter that matches. The teach may choose to use small manipulatives, like mini erasers, bingo chips or counters to mark each correct response. These letter and number cards and puzzles are a great activity for preschool and kindergarten students. Students can practice letter and number recognition by matching capital and lowercase letters, matching numbers and number words up to 20, as well as matching numbers and pictures up to 10. This set includes all seasons, holidays and several other popular themes.

What is Included:

• Alphabet cards for capital and lowercase letters
• Number cards for numbers 1-20 and number words.
• 2 piece alphabet puzzles that match capital and lowercase letters
• 2 piece number and number word match (May not be available in all themes)
• 2 piece number and counting object match (May not be available in all themes)
• 3 piece counting, number and number word puzzles (May not be available in all themes)

Students will love the hands on activities in this resource. There are a variety of different games and activities that students can complete independently or with a partner.

Ways to Use the Cards:

• Matching Game: Match capital and lowercase letters or numbers to the number words.
• Fishing Game: Attach a paper clip to the card and use a magnetic fishing pole to "catch" the letters or numbers.
• Salt/Sand Tray: Use these cards as a model to show students what to write in the sand.
• Letter or Number Hunts: Have students find the letters or numbers that you have hidden around the room.
• ABC Order or Number Order: Have students place letters or numbers in the correct order.
• Pocket Chart Game: Place the cards into a pocket chart and hide a picture behind one of the cards. Have students guess which card the hidden picture is behind.

With a wide variety of uses, these cards will allow students to be engaged with learning their letters and numbers, as well as learning number words and practice counting.

How to Play

Where's the Object? is a game for centers or whole group instruction where an object is hidden behind another object. A poem is chanted where the student(s) must say the letter they think the hidden object is behind. Once guessed, the letter is removed. If the hidden object is there, then it must be hidden again to play further. If is is not there, then the poem is chanted again and a new letter is guessed. This game has letters in both capital and lowercase forms.

These letter and number seek and find activities make a great hands on literacy or math center for the preschool or kindergarten classroom. Students will have fun tracing letters and finding numbers with these letter recognition and number recognition matching mats. Each letter and number mat is available in color and in black and white.

Types of Activities

• Create a hands on literacy or math center by placing the mats and cards in a center.
• Create a write and wipe activity by laminating the mats or placing them in page protectors and providing a dry erase marker.
• Create a sensory bin by adding the letter or number cards inside a sensory bin for students to find.
• Write the Room activity where the teacher hides the cards around the room and students find them to write or trace on their mats.
• Find and Cover activity where students draw a card then use various magnets, mini erasers, or bingo chips to cover the correct letter or number.
• Find and Dot activity where students draw a card then use a bingo marker to dot the correct letter or number.

By having a variety of ways to complete, students will stay engaged as they look for and find each letter or number on the letter mats.

The mats to this activity are no prep. You simply print and hand out or place in the desired center. The mats can be laminated or placed in page protectors for a reusable activity.
