More than $20 The New Year Resources (by date, oldest first)

Looking for a fun way to incorporate themed vocabulary into your classroom or homeschool? Use these weekly thematic word work units to introduce new words and practice spelling, handwriting, sentence building, and drawing. This bundle includes ALL Weekly Thematic Vocabulary units, including the Winter Holiday unit.

All of the 13 included units contain five weeks of vocabulary work, except for the special Winter Holiday unit which includes six weeks. Each week features a different themed picture or pictures, six vocabulary words to learn, and five days of quick, fun activities using those words. Daily activities are numbered to keep the student on track and are quick enough to be used as morning work or in a literacy center. All units include five weeks of vocabulary work so that in months with four weeks you can choose the themes that best fit your classroom. Also included: black and white versions of all five weeks for easier printing.

This unit is great for a classroom but was developed with homeschoolers in mind. The daily format mimics several homeschool vocabulary programs to make it easy to use alongside older siblings. Pair the themes up with your themed unit studies for added learning! This vocabulary curriculum is geared towards kindergartners or first graders who need some extra vocabulary practice, but can be used by any age that needs to work on handwriting, reading, and sentence building skills.

Each week includes the following:

-Themed Introduction Page - includes a themed picture(s) and the six vocabulary words for the week. Can be laminated for a center to save on ink if using in a classroom!

-Day 1 - match the vocabulary words to their pictures

-Day 2 - trace the vocabulary words

-Day 3 - write the vocabulary words

-Day 4 - finish the sentences with the vocabulary words

-Day 5 Option 1 - copy the sentence and illustrate it

-Day 5 Option 2 - student picks a sentence from Day 4, writes it, and illustrates it

Each word comes in 7 different styles including phonics dots and arrows, phonics dots, word only, and picture only. Almost 600 cards included! Laminate the picture only cards and have students create the CVC word with dry erase markers or letter manipulatives.

Cards are four to a page so that they're large enough to put up on the wall but still small enough for students to use easily. These are low prep...just print, cut and laminate. Please check out the preview above to see examples of the different card styles!

CVC Word Rearrange Puzzles: CVC Words from short a, e, i, o, and u word families in rearrange/cut-apart 3 piece puzzles. Print, laminate, and play! Use the black and white set as a coloring activity before cutting apart to let students personalize their own set of puzzles!

CVC Word Memory Game: The classic game of memory using CVC words! 3 different versions provide several ways to play the game: match word to word, word to picture, word and picture to word and picture, or any combination of the three! Mix and match to increase the difficulty of the game. Includes 85 different CVC words covering short a, short e, short i, short o, and short u. Cards can be separated into individual games for each word family. Print cards on cardstock and/or laminate for durability.

CVC Vocabulary Word Wall Cards: Learn CVC words with these fun vocabulary/word wall cards! • In the second task, students will read 8 New Year's resolutions from their favorite celebrities and sports stars. They must identify the parts of speech of underlined words within each quote. Looking for an engaging way to get your French students to build their communication skills and vocabulary? Taboo is a fun French speaking and listening game where one student has to guess a word based on clues given in French by other students. The catch is that they cannot mention anything that is included in a list of taboo words.

All of the words on each card are written in French and English. This is very useful as many of the words will be new to students whether they are beginners or very advanced. You can easily modify this game to play it with all levels!

Object of the game:

One player tries to get his teammate to guess the word at the top of a card. The player must give clues, but he can't use any of the Taboo words in his description. The taboo words are written beneath the underlined word at the top of the card.

Teams score points for each word successfully guessed. The team with the most points at the end of the game wins.

Beginner students should be allowed to use the French TABOO words printed on the cards. This will encourage them to use new vocabulary and will help them in forming sentences to use as clues.
