Medieval Europe - Who should rule England? Slides, printable-digital worksheet

Develops students research and summarising skills with online notes. first introduce the topic with a short focused slide deck on the topic on Medieval Europe History. I would suggest enlarging the document to A3.

A research task on the different claims to the English throne in 1066AD. Students access the website on the research sheet for the information as a starting point. They are required to produce an argument with evidence from their research.

Australian History - World War One - effect of changing military leadership

In this no prep activity worksheet lesson for middle/high school students use data to look at the impact of Australia's changing military leadership and how it affected the causalities rates of the Anzac forces in Europe.
The task can used within the wider context of changing military technology and its use by Australia's for success on the battlefield during World War I.

An informational writing unit focuses on what the industrial revolution was, and then looks at some of the child labor issues that arose during those times. It has been split into three separate lessons and is perfect for students in fifth grade and sixth grade.

The first lesson is interactive and involves them cutting out facts, and then sorting these facts into paragraphs. In the second lesson the children need to use these facts to write four paragraphs. Then, in the final lesson your class will need to use the format provided to write an introduction for the text before checking their draft paragraphs for mistakes and writing up their work into a neat copy on the template provided.
If you would like your class to look at the Industrial Revolution in more detail, the Children of the Industrial Revolution Reading Comprehension activity adds a further lesson.

The activity follows the experiences using primary sources of the issues around conscription and the experiences of Mrs Brill who son was killed in France in 1917. The sources allow students to interrogate primary sources on the impact of the debate on an individual.

The first lesson is interactive and involves students cutting out facts, and then sorting these facts into paragraphs. In the second lesson the students need to use these facts to write four paragraphs. Then, in the third lesson children need to choose the most important facts and include these in an introduction; after this they need to answer several questions on a prompt sheet before writing up their conclusion. In the final lesson students need to check their draft paragraphs for mistakes before writing up their work on to a neat copy on the template provided.
