GOOD FRIENDS/ BAD FRIENDS Scenario Choice Cards - Friendship Social Skills

Our "Friend or Foe: Good Friend/Bad Friendship Decoder Choice Cards" are an engaging and interactive resource designed to help students understand the qualities of good and bad friendships. This resource consists of 48 choice cards, each featuring a scenario and accompanying visuals to prompt students to reflect on whether the person in the scenario demonstrated good or bad friend behavior.
Each card presents a relatable scenario involving friendship, such as sharing toys, listening to others, standing up against bullying, or keeping promises. Alongside the scenario, there are clear visuals of a thumbs-up and a thumbs-down, representing good and bad friend choices. These visuals provide a simple and visual cue for students to assess the friend's behavior.

HOW TO USE:
1.Distribute the choice cards to individual students or small groups.
2.Instruct students to read each scenario carefully.
3.Prompt students to reflect on the behavior described in the scenario and determine whether it represents a good or bad friend choice.
4.Students can indicate their choice by pointing to the corresponding thumbs-up or thumbs-down visual on the card.

You may choose to add the Feeling Character Cards as a way for your students to respond to the scenarios. You read the scenario and your student holds up the feeling card they think best represents the situation.
Feelings included are:
Frustrated. Nervous. Angry. Upset. Annoyed. Worried. Sick. Scared. Cold. Thirsty. Hungry. Tired. Excited. Surprised. Proud. Confident. Unsure. Embarrassed.
Option 2: For students already reading and/or writing, these task cards are great as a ‘think-pair-share’ exercise, or students can write their responses using the recording sheet provided.
Option 3: Role play the different scenarios and invite students to discuss the situations and how each person might be feeling. Use the questions prompts to help guide discussions.
