Encouraging students to think about the consequences of their actions fosters self-reflection.

By considering the potential outcomes of not following rules, students become more aware of their behavior and its impact on themselves and others.

How and when might you use this?

This worksheet could be used in a variety of ways:

· At the beginning of the school year to introduce and discuss classroom rules.

· As a review activity to reinforce classroom expectations.

· In partner and small group work, children can collaborate together discussing their reasoning and justifying their decisions to one another.

· As a reflection tool following a behavior incident to allow children to identify and evaluate their actions.

· As part of social-emotional learning for lessons focused on managing emotions and behaviors.

Students can complete this behavior tracker to show how well they were able to:

I added room for the teacher to write in how many (if any) prompts are acceptable to follow directions and stay on task. I also left room for a percentage of work that should be completed. I know often my special education students struggle to complete assignments due to lack of focus, etc. So I might put that one student needs to complete 70% of his assignment and then gradually increase it. There is space for that to be written in in the chart.

Students can choose a big smiley face, a small smiling face, and a frowning face to show how well they were able to maintain the directives. At the bottom there is room for teacher signature and comments. At the top, the student has space to write what assignment he or she is assessing.

Two sheets print per page to save paper.

If you have little one's, you know they oftentimes say what comes to mind. Often, we are left embarrassed or shocked they said something out loud. This resource is a great way to introduce the idea of saying or filtering our thoughts.

Resource includes 30 task cards students can sort through. Two sticker labels included (think it/say it). Simply cut out each task card and create two sorting piles (think it/say it) Resource allows students to brainstorm appropriate and inappropriate responses to various situations, and includes a short story that students can color in.
