Elementary School Other (Science) Research

Help students predict and classify with this observation journal! Students first learn about the flowering plant life cycle. Then, they label the important parts of a plant. Student then plant one of 4 seeds- sunflower, firecracker, moonflower or marigold. They make predictions on what flower this will become based on the identification pages. Once a week, or whenever the educator feels is fit, the students note any changes, make a prediction on draw an observation. Let the growing begin! Seeds not included :)

File includes instructions and masters to create a groundhog using heart shapes and two non-fiction texts (one with facts about groundhogs and one with facts about the holiday). The texts can be used as student readers, or as resources for expository writing.
