I spent two weeks teaching my students revising skills explicitly before it hit me... all the answer choices had SOMETHING to do with knowing how to use a comma!

  • A short "teach" page is included for self-guided learning.

Test Prep Bundle STAAR - Revising & Editing Practice

By Blooming Through High School

Bundle includes 109 Pages total & 41 Google Forms

Clauses: 16 pages/5 Google Forms

Commas: 26 pages/13 Google Forms

Fragments, Run-Ons & Comma Splices: 14 pages/3 Google Quizzes

Transition words: 16 pages/4 Google Quizzes

Commonly Confused Words: 18 pages/9 Quizzes

Capitalization: 11 pages/4 Google Quizzes

Apostrophes: 8 pages/3 Google Quizzes

I made these after realizing that my students in high school needed practice with the mechanics of how to construct a sentence before I could begin instructing them on best practices for structure in their essays. There are pages for them to practice (on paper) or you can use as a quiz for after instruction! All of the Google quizzes will self-grade and they are editable.

This is the essential Test Prep Bundle for students testing for state or district exams.

They're also adaptable for students who are doing self-directed learning as each includes a short teaching page for students to reference as they are working through the activities.

Kinder I Spy - High Frequency Words

By Ms Garcia Store

Dive into the captivating world of vocabulary with our "I Spy" game, specially crafted to reinforce the High-Frequency HMH words for Kindergarten. Get ready for a language-learning adventure that unveils 120 HMH Kindergarten words, organized over 9 modules.

Our "I Spy" game is just one part of a comprehensive toolkit that provides diverse and interactive methods for teaching and learning. During each of the four weeks of each module from 1 to 3, students will work on the words for the entire module (4 words in module 1, 12 words in module 2, and 12 words in module 3). From modules 4 to 9, students will encounter flashcards with the 4 words of that week and 4 words from the previous week as a review. There is a different set for each week, so you can play a different game each week during the 36 weeks of the course.

Explore a Variety of Activities:

1.Classic "I Spy" Game: Hide the flashcards throughout the classroom for students to discover and write down on one of the two available worksheets*.

2.Dictation Challenge: Randomly dictate the words of the flashcards and have students write them on one of the two available worksheets*.

3. Literacy Center Fun: Laminate each flashcard and place them face up. Challenge your students to find specific words, whether from the current week, the entire module, or the entire year's word collection.

Two Available Worksheets:

•Write the words on the blank lines with the corresponding words.

•Fill in the blocks with each letter's size and length.

By Ms Garcia Store

Practice the Kinder INTO READING program Sight Words of HMH easily and with no prep.

Worksheets, ready to be used, for the frequently used words of the week from HMH's Kindergarten Into Reading program. They can be used as homework or even as a center.

Upon acquiring this resource, you will receive 1 PDF file of 26 pages to work on the 16 words of Module 6. Each word has its front page, and there are two different options for the back of the page. One option is to practice writing the week's words by tracing and copying the word (pages 23 to 26), while the second option is to try to formulate sentences and be creative with the word of the day, as half of the sheet is left blank to let the student creatively draw the word or illustrate the sentences they wrote above (pages 19 to 22).

This activity works with the 16 frequently used words from module 6 of the HMH Kindergarten program.

  • Module 1 has only 4 words.
  • Modules 2 through 3 consist of 12 words each
  • Modules 4 to 9 consist of 16 words each.

Every module is 4 weeks long and the program consists of 9 modules (36 weeks).

Each word will be worked on in 9 different ways:

  • Reading the word, its sounds, and syllables.
  • Tracing the letters that make up the word.
  • Searching for the word among other frequently used words.
  • Fill in the blocks with each of the letters of the word.
  • Sort the letter cards to form the word.
  • Count the number of syllables in the word.
  • Make the word of the day unique using colored pencils.
  • Write sentences with the word or words you are working on.
  • Calligraphy

There's also space provided for creative expression with colored pencils.

If the option of creating sentences on the back, pages 23 to 26, is chosen, it would be advisable not to cut out the letters from the front until these sentences are completed so that they continue to have the help shown at the bottom of the page on how to write each word.
