French 1 Grammar Review - Practice Activity

By Love Learning Languages - French Resources

French 1 grammar review - Back to school or end of the year practice activity

This is a review of beginner French grammar. This activity is very thorough, and is meant to help you assess your students' beginner level skills.

Use this activity as a comprehensive review either at the end of the year or when students come back to school after a long break.

This is a video activity which also includes a set of 652 slides to project and practice with when you don't want to use the video. Using the slides is a nice way to lead the pace of the review on your own. Watch a preview of this activity on YouTube to see exactly how it works.

Use this activity to put together all of the grammar you've spent time teaching.

1. Students listen closely and read along as they are asked how to say different things they should know by the end of French 1 (see details below), and then they speak their answers. The pace is not too slow, and there's a lot of repetition.

It's easy to break this activity down into small bites as the video is 75 minutes long.

Remember, you can also lead the review yourself by using the practice slides provided.

French 1 grammar used in this activity:

  • Subject pronouns
  • Disjunctive pronouns
  • Definite, indefinite, and partitive articles
  • Ways to use DE
  • Plural nouns
  • Possessive adjectives
  • Prepositions of location
  • Numbers 0-100
  • Time, days, months
  • Il y a
  • Aller
  • Être
  • C’est vs Il est
  • Avoir
  • Faire
  • Descriptive adjectives
  • Forming questions in 3 ways

Included:

  1. Full length downloadable video review activity - 75 minutes long
  2. Practice slides for online use to practice and test writing skills - 652 slides

Step 1: Watch the video activity for a full review of French 1 grammar.

Step 2: Use the set of slides to project the questions and have students speak or write their answers. Read the slide that I would have spoken in step 1, and give students the time needed to write their responses before showing at the answer card. As the cards are not numbered, I encourage you to download them and either have students use them tablets or project them for a whole class activity rather than printing.

FBA Interview Forms

FBA Interview Forms offer a comprehensive approach to gathering essential information from parents, teachers, and students for conducting a functional behavior assessment.

  • The Parent Interview Form covers child strengths, problem behaviors, and parental strategies
  • The Teacher Interview Form provides insights into academic progress, observed triggers, and attempted strategies
  • The Student Interview Form offers a unique perspective, allowing students to share their interests, coping strategies, and insights into their problem behaviors and peer reactions.

These forms empower educators to develop personalized behavior intervention plans with a holistic understanding of the student's environment and perspectives.

Behavior Observation Form (s)

Behavior Observation Form (s) will walk you through the observation process. The forms will help you know what to look for as you observe, and assist you in breaking down what you are seeing in a way that will help you write a quality FBA.

Done correctly, your direct observation of the student (ideally across 2-3 settings) will allow you to compare what you observe with the interview information. It will also help you develop a definition of the target behavior that is observable and measurable (operational definition) and assist you in developing a functional hypothesis of why the student is engaging in the problem behavior.

FBA Template

If you aren’t confident in your ability to complete any of the components of a functional behavior assessment, then this FBA Template is for you.

The included Components of a Functional Behavior Assessment document will walk you through and offer examples along the way.

FBA Template includes:

  • An editable functional behavior assessment template
  • An 11-page document explaining how to complete a functional behavior assessment**,** outlining each of the necessary components of an FBA. Explanations and examples are given for each component.
  • Sources of Data
  • Target/Problem Behavior
  • Relevant Background Information
  • Setting Events/Contextual Analysis
  • Motivating Factors/Antecedent Analysis (Triggers)
  • Maintaining Consequences/Consequence Analysis
