12 Days of Christmas Yoga Cards

Sing and flow through one of our favorite yoga holiday songs!
This activity was one I did when I first started teaching yoga to children. When I noticed how mystified the children were with the holiday season, a colleague of mine suggested pairing a pose with each of the 12 Days of Christmas. You can play the song alone, you can sing the song as you do the poses, or you can practice the poses one at a time and simply enjoy the song afterward.
It’s super fun to try to remember which pose goes with which verse and to have the children attempt to teach it back in order.
If you’re concerned about this material not being secular, use caution. This is best practiced in environments where mentioning and celebrating Christmas is welcomed.

Gingerbread Preschool Lesson Plans

This preschool gingerbread unit will give preschoolers a fun and engaging way to learn with gingerbread. These gingerbread preschool lesson plans contain a variety of activities that cover the alphabet, beginning sounds, preschool math skills, art, and so much more!
What is Included:
- There is a lesson overview that lists the activities with the subject or skill area the activity falls in.
- Art and Crafts Activities: There are instructions for creating a gingerbread house out of a paper bag, a decorating a gingerbread craft, as well as a dot painting activity.
- Math Activities: Students will practice counting to 10, ordering by size, and identifying shapes.
- Language Activities: The activities in this section include sorting capital and lowercase letters, a gingerbread journal page, and a beginning sounds activity. There is also a set of story sequency cards to be used with a gingerbread man story.
- Handwriting Activities: There are tracing lines activities as well as worksheets for practicing the correct letter formation of both the capital and lowercase letters.
- Fine Motor Activities: The activities in this section include playdough mats for decorating a gingerbread man. There are also activities for building gingerbread themed items with counting cubes.

- Science Activities: Students will be able to label a gingerbread man, as well as complete a sequencing activity on how to make gingerbread cookies.
- Social Emotional Activities: Students will have access to gingerbread emotion cards and a blank gingerbread template to use playdough to create a feelings face on the gingerbread man to match their card.
- Dramatic Play: This section includes ideas on how to set up your dramatic play area with a gingerbread house as well as some art templates for students to create the candy decorations for the gingerbread house.
- Circle Time Posters: This section includes posters to use during circle time that focus on the letter counting, relevant colors, and shapes.
- The final page includes suggestions for more activities if you need more on a particular skill or subject.

In this product, students will learn the sign and English vocabulary word for the 96 different holiday (Christmas, New Year's, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa) vocabulary words presented.
This product can be used with students who are learning English and/or sign language. It can serve as an in class practice, review, or quiz.
In the first section of the product, students will learn the English word, the sign of each holiday (Christmas, New Year's, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa) vocabulary item, and the holiday vocabulary word is used in a sentence. Students will be able to write the name of the holiday vocabulary word in their native language. A picture is also included to represent each holiday vocabulary word.
In the second section of the product, there is a dictionary provided that includes the English word, the sign, and a picture showing each holiday (Christmas, New Year's, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa) vocabulary word presented.
In the third section of the product, students can review what they learned based on the sign, sentence, and picture that are included for each holiday holiday vocabulary word provided. Students will then be required to write down each vocabulary word in English. At the end of this section, students will have the opportunity to choose 14 holiday vocabulary words and make up a sentence using each one. Students will then have the opportunity to answer short comprehension questions about the holidays.
In the fourth section of the product, students can review what they learned based on the sign and picture that are included for each word provided. Students will then be required to make up a sentence in English using each holiday (Christmas, New Year's, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa) vocabulary word.
In the fifth section of the product, students can review what they learned based on the sign and picture that are included for each word provided. Students will then be required to make up a sentence in their native language using each holiday (Christmas, New Year's, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa) vocabulary word.

Social-Emotional Learning
Listening to classical music has been shown to help with self-awareness, empathy, and self-regulation. Since social-emotional learning is essential for children, incorporating classical music into your classroom or homeschool is a great way to support their development.
Talk about the emotions evoked by the selected music. What does the music make them feel? Happy? Sad? Anxious? Peaceful? Help students identify and label their feelings. Ask open-ended questions about the music and encourage students to share their thoughts and feelings.
Discuss the different instruments used in the piece of music. What does each instrument contribute to the overall sound? Encourage students to make up a story based on the music. What is happening in the story? Who are the characters? Where does it take place?
While listening, students can draw a picture or scene that comes to mind. What colors are used? What shapes? Why?

- Listening Sheet - There are no wrong answers! Students can note how they feel and what they imagine while listening to a selected piece of music. Choose from musical instruments, nature scenes, colors, and more.
- Weather & Feelings - Weather is a recurring theme in classical music. Does a musical piece remind the listener of a snowy day or a cheerful sunny afternoon? Students can select the weather symbols that come to mind. Is the music happy or sad? A set of emotional characters allows your group to pick the feelings that best relate to a piece of music.
- Carnival Coloring - Which carnival rides and activities would best fit a piece of music? Does the tempo feel like a roller coaster or a peaceful swing ride in the sky? Choose a tasty treat from the snack bar, then stop at the prize booth before finishing. There are no wrong answers!
- Listen and Color - While listening, students color the scene and choose the keywords/elements that resonate with their listening experience. There is lots of room for drawing, coloring, and journaling in the box! Students often engage in discussions about what they've heard or felt. Great for displaying!

R is for Reindeer Preschool Lesson Plans

This preschool monster unit will give preschoolers a fun and engaging way to learn with monsters, as well as to learn about the letter M. These monster preschool lesson plans contain a variety of activities that cover the alphabet, beginning sounds, preschool math skills, art, and so much more!
What is Included:
- There is a lesson overview that lists the activities with the subject or skill area the activity falls in.
- Art and Crafts Activities**:** There are instructions for creating 2 different reindeer crafts as well as a dot painting page for R is for Reindeer. Students will also have a cut and paste craft for creating a reindeer out of a letter R.
- Math Activities: Students will practice graphing, counting to 10, ordering by size, and identifying shapes.
- Language Activities: The activities in this section include sorting capital and lowercase letter Rs, finding the letter R dot mats, beginning sound sort, and a "reindeer" writing journal page.
- Handwriting Activities: There are tracing lines activities as well as worksheets for practicing the correct letter formation of both the capital and lowercase letter R. There are tracing activities for tracing lines.

This reindeer themed preschool unit is designed to be used during a Christmas or winter themed week where students are also learning about the letter R. By connecting a letter to the theme, students will have a meaningful way to remember the letter they are learning. The activities can be stretched to use over 2 weeks if needed, as many of the activities are reusable.
There is a mixture of no prep and low prep activities on a variety of skills and subjects. This allows teachers to be flexible and use only the activities that the teacher desires to complete. The activities in this packet can be completed in any order.
