Summer Bingo Vocabulary Game (with 25 boards) Reading Comprehension Engagement
By Reading Club Fun
Summer bingo offers a fun, active way to foster spelling, summer vocabulary, and listening skills. A high-quality game for a whole-class activity, or to put in a classroom center for kids to work on in small groups.
Follow us to learn about monthly freebies and deals!
Comes with:
• 25 different playing boards.
• 60 calling cards, vocabulary words and the letter of the column they are in.
• Quick Look Key – laminate and mark off to keep track of which cards were called. Helps to quickly verify winners.
• BONUS: Free Summer Time Word Search Puzzle to reinforce the vocabulary used in the bingo game.
How it works:
The caller shuffles the calling cards to mix them up, then reads the top calling card. It has 2 parts:
1. A spelling tip to help kids locate the column to look in. For example: "This word has the letter 'E' in it. This guides the player to look in the "E" column.
** Important Note: Because SUMMER contains two of the Letter M, the caller must specify whether the word is in column M1 or M2. This difference is made clear on the top of the players' bingo cards, on the clue cards and on the Quick Look sheet. ***
2. The definition or clue, required to find the vocabulary word.
When a player has covered 6 illustrations in a row horizontally, vertically or on a diagonal, they call out "Bingo!" and the caller checks their board.

Beat Summertime Blues – Puzzles Packed with Ideas for Summer

YOUR CHOICE:
1. Select the PDF format – print it out for students (for assignment packets) or email it to students’ homes so they can print it out, complete it and send it back.
OR
2. Select “TeachShare Digital Activity” – click to choose the pages you wish to assign to students through Google Classroom (or other platform). Then add directions for students. You may also wish to share our Tips for Students (see below).
WHAT'S IN THIS RESOURCE:
This puzzle set offers kids dozens of great ideas for fun activities as the summer winds down. Includes:
TIPS FOR STUDENTS – TeachShare DIGITAL ACTIVITIES
Note: TeachShare’s digital activities platform is still evolving, so some tools (such as the Pen) are tricky to use, and some features (such as zooming in) are not yet available. As such, when assigning our digital resources to students, consider sharing these tips that we found helpful:
1. Crosswords: It’s best to use the Text Tool to type the answers off to the side, and then drag them into the puzzle frame. To begin, press CAPS LOCK on your keyboard. Then,
• For words that go across: Use text size 14 and hit the space bar between letters (drag in)
• For words that go down: Use text size 10 and hit the Enter key after each letter (drag in)
2. Word Searches: Use the “thick” Highlight tool to mark words. Use different colors for words that go Across, Down and Diagonally. Words will be easier to see, and it’s more fun!
3. Match-ups, Mazes and Dot-To-Dots: Use the “thin” Pen tool – and don’t worry if the lines are a little wobbly.
4. Puzzles with Hidden Messages or Images: The colors described in the puzzle instructions may not match the ones available with your Pen and Highlight tools. You will be able to see what’s hidden even if the colors you use are a bit creative!
5. Have fun: Don’t worry if things look a little “off.” The main thing is to do the puzzles, learn some new things – and enjoy yourself!
