Writing a Fairy Tale Example, Graphic Organizer, and Template

Writing a fairy tale can be a fun and interesting project for your students. This product provides students with the opportunity to use creativity while writing their fairy tale and share it with their peers!
This product includes information to share with your students about what a fairy tale is, why do we write a fairy tale, challenges characters may face in fairy tales, who could be your audience when writing a fairy tale, rules to follow when writing a fairy tale, possible options students can choose to publish their fable, using a strong opening compared to a weak opening in the first paragraph of your fairy tale, tips that are useful to write a great fairy tale, a layout of the fairy tale is provided, an example of a fairy tale is included in this product that includes an idea template, planning the fairy tale with more in depth ideas, and an example of a fairy tale rough draft is included in this product.
After the example is read, students can answer 6 comprehension questions about the fairy tale. Students will are also provided with a template that includes an area for 3 fairy tale ideas, and once they choose their fairy tale, they can add onto their fairy tale using the idea chart. Templates are included after the example along with a rough draft template and reminder checklist so students remember to go back and check their work once it is completed.

Writing a friendly letter is a fun and interesting project for students when they are writing to someone they know or just met and want to know more about. Students will learn why we write friendly letters, who we write friendly letters to, what to include in a friendly letter, how you will publish your friendly letter, rules to follow when writing a friendly letter, tips that will help when writing a friend letter, different closings you can use in your friendly letter, 2 examples of friendly letters are included in this packet and 5 friendly letter templates, addressing an envelope, a list of state abbreviations, and street suffixes and their abbreviations are included in this product. After examples of the friendly letter and addressing an envelope are reviewed, students will answer review comprehension questions to ensure they understand how to write a friendly letter and address an envelope.

Christmas Activity | Lapbook Birth of Baby Jesus | Graphic Organizer

My students LOVE creating storyboards and they are a wonderful introduction to basic story elements and summarizing. I use colorful file folders or large manila/construction paper. There are illustrations to color and places to list the characters, setting and summary. There are also interactive flaps for writing the beginning, middle and ending. This project is about the birth of Baby Jesus and includes Mary, Joseph, Baby Jesus, the Wise Men, a shepherd and a sheep.

Narrative Writing Craft: Fly a Hot Air Balloon

It is a fun engaging writing project your students will enjoy. Prep Free! Ready to Go!
Task:
1. Students are going to write a six page story using the Owl Craft Book pages.
2. The main characters will be two animals. Together they want to accomplish a task. They have four tries. First three tries are all failed. They refuse to give up. With the last try, the fourth try, they are able to succeed.
3. Each student will: pick two animals as his main characters; define a task he wants his characters to accomplish; pick a proper title for his story.
Step by step assignment directions are giving using Teacher Writing Sample "Fly a Hot Air Balloon" as a model.
You could use this Owl Craft Book to write anything related to Valentine, Mother's Day, or Father's Day.

Bible Story Activity Joseph and His Coat of Colors Lapbook Graphic Organizer

This is a great activity for a Christian School, homeschool or even for a Sunday School teacher. This storyboard is an activity that reinforces comprehension and introduces basic story elements. I use a file folder but large manila or construction paper can also be used. Students write about the setting, characters, beginning, middle and ending. Then they write a summary. 2. The main character will be a leprechaun. He is going on a journey of searching for gold coins. The middle of this story is made up with three mini stories of finding each individual coin or coins.
3. Each student will use a leprechaun as his main character. However each student is going to design and write his own version of the gold coins searching adventures.
Step by step assignment directions are giving using Teacher Writing Sample "It's St. Patrick's Day!" as a model.
You could use this Shamrock Craft Book to write anything related to St. Patrick's Day.

Writing about How to Solve a Problem is an important writing project that gives students the time to write about a problem they had to solve or are currently trying to solve. This product sets the foundation for having students learn about simple and advanced problem solving skills that so many students. Once they are finished with their masterpiece, they can share it with their friends and family members. This packet includes information to share with your students about why we write to solve a problem, what steps to follow when writing to solve a problem - state the problem, ask questions, come up with a list of resources, summarize the actions taken to solve the problem, and a solution which shares the decision that was made to solve the problem. Writing a play is a perfect project that gives students time to write about an event that happened in their life or an event that they made up. Once they are finished, they can share it with different groups of people and have their friends play each character. This packet includes information to share with your students about what a play is, examples of plays they may see, what steps to follow when writing the beginning, middle and end of a play, and identifying the parts of a play. This packet also includes an example showing the process that is used to write a play using a brainstorming play chart. An example of the play chart and template is also included. Special Person Craft for Mother's Day Father's Day and Grandparent's Day

This special person writing activity and craft allows students to create a meaningful gift for Mother's Day, Father's Day or Grandparent's Day. This simple craft and writing project is sure to delight the special person in the child's life.
How to Make:
To create the writing aspect of this activity, students will use the brainstorming ideas page to write down reasons they love their special person or when they do something the child loves. The student then gets to choose some of their best ideas to write on their heart craft. After writing their sentences, students can decorate their parent gift any way they choose. Students may choose to cut out their craft and glue it to some colored construction paper or card stock.
This packet includes several variations for different things a child may call their special person. There is also a blank craft for the student to write their special name.

This craft and writing activity are very easy to set up. Students simply need their craft template, a brainstorming ideas page, a writing utensil for the writing section, and crayons, markers, or colored pencils to decorate their craft. Scissors and glue are only needed if the child wishes to mount their craft to colored card stock or construction paper.
