My School Supplies: Cut, Glue, and Color Worksheet!

This fun worksheet is perfect for young learners getting ready for school!

• Practice cutting skills: Improve fine motor skills by cutting out the text and match with the school supply pictures.
• Sharpen gluing skills: Glue the cut text next to the school supply pictures on the worksheet.
• Get creative: Color the pictures to make your school supplies shine!

This engaging activity helps children learn about common school supplies while developing important pre-writing skills.

A terrific, no prep activity for your blossoming K-4 French writers who may be struggling to take risks with their writing skills. The students absolutely LOVE this activity and have been asking me for days when we get to do ‘le gateau et la crème glacée’. I gradually give students autonomy by giving them the freedom to talk about what they think the Food Pairs have in common.

What to do:

Make a class set of copies of one of the cutie pairs.

Students colour, write, and cut out the writing strip.

Finally, students cut and paste the ends of the writing strip to the back of each item in the pair (ie. One on toast and the other end on butter. Fold in the middle and students can show the big reveal!

I feel confident that students from K-3 will find these most useful and teachers can come back to the texts with any students who may be experiencing challenges in their French reading skills. Core French teachers will be sure to add the resource to their repertoire for Grades 4 to 6 as they learn to read and write at the Junior level.
