Halloween How to Writing activity. This can be used for differentiation within your classroom. There is one graphic organizer where students can draw out their ideas and write a small sentence of what they drew. The second graphic organizer has students begin with an introduction, list three steps, and a conclusion. You can use both for the planning stages, students will just need to combine two of their drawings for one step.

Then there is a cute pumpkin paper for students to write out their How To Carve a Pumpkin essay.

This is a great practice of finding the student's voice. They get a writing prompt that explains that they are in charge of finding a new mascot for Easter. They get to brainstorm some ideas for a new Easter Bunny. Then they can use their graphic organizer to format their opinions and why their mascot would be a good choice. Once they have finished the graphic organizer, they can then continue the writing process and write out their essay. Included in this download is a writing prompt, 2 graphic organizers, choose which one works best for your needs. Make Thanksgiving writing fun with this opinion writing resource focused on students' favorite Thanksgiving foods! This is the perfect no prep writing activity for the month of November. It is perfect for elementary classrooms. Students will express their opinions, support their choice with reasons, and practice structured writing.
