Free 1st Grade Lesson (by date, oldest first)

This is a lesson that is from my CVC Fluency Lessons Bundle. In this lesson you will have one detailed lesson plan, phonemic awareness, reading CVC words, orthographic mapping of CVC words, a high-frequency word, and scaffolded and regular CVC decodable passage. This is a great introduction to teaching fluency while still working on the important skills students need to become fluent readers! This resource is no prep and easy to use!

This bookmark resource provides you with 5 quick tasks to practice. It includes isolating beginning, middle, and ending sounds and blending and segmenting sounds. There is a small list of words provided so that you don't have to think them up. Keep this small bookmark in your purse, on a clipboard, on your lanyard, or anywhere that you can quickly grab and go!

This isn't an ordinary CVC word list. This list organizes these CVC words into two groups. Words that begin with continuous sounds and words that begin with stop sounds.

You will want to use words with continuous sounds to support beginning and struggling readers.

This is a great resource to use when planning your instruction! Happy Planning! :)

This is a competitive pitch matching name in powerpoint format. The learning goal is for 2nd grade students to name pitches as fast as they can (beginner level, just the spaces!) :) We usually play this game 'around the world' style. We start off on the left side or right side of the the room and the first two people stand up and you flash a note on the screen. The student who gets the note correct gets to move onto the next child in the class while the other student sits. That student has to make their way through the entire class before being deemed champion... but they could be beat at ANY TIME! You can mix it up, left side, right side, boys/girls, etc. Kids get ultra competitive!

A "Pocket" Full of Kindness - An SEL Activity that focuses on kindness and the idea that you can take it with you wherever you go and "pull it right out of your back pocket" as the saying goes!! This activity is great for younger elementary students who are getting an introduction to all things kindness and all of the different ways that they can show kindness to others! For this activity, you will need string and scissor to help make it the most successful! My students LOVED being able to put their very own pocket together! I love the hands-on lessons as much as they do!

Statement of Faith:

I believe that the Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God. I believe that Jesus is fully God and fully human, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life and paid the penalty for our sins through his death on the cross, resurrected on the third day having victory over death. I believe in the trinity, that God is existent in 3 separate persons - God the Father, the Son, and Holy Spirit. I believe, as Calvary Chapel states, “that all people are by nature separated from God and responsible for their own sin, but that salvation, redemption, and forgiveness are freely offered to all by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.
