No-Prep Phonemic Awareness Practice Digraphs
By K3 Homeschool Foundations
Let's be honest, phonemic awareness can be SO boring for our students! Whenever we are working on it they want to use the words in sentences or want to see a picture of what that word means! Now they have a picture to connect to the word!
These NO-PREP sheets are perfect for extra practice or practice in small group! I let my students choose their manipulative; whether it is play-dough to tap, legos, chips, or blocks! This also gives those kiddos struggling with blending and segmenting a concrete method to gain those skills!
The sheets are broken into each digraph so that you can easily practice phonemic awareness with the digraph you are working on. You can also mix them up so they can practice the skill for each digraph!
-Includes
-Digraphs; ch,th,sh,wh,ck,qu
-Digraphs words with a picture
-A box for each sound!

The BFG Pre-Reading Reflection Questions
By Abigail J McClellan
This two page resource is a must for a pre-reading assignment for the book The BFG by Roald Dahl. It includes six statements where students need to decide if they strongly agree, somewhat agree, somewhat disagree, and strongly disagree. They then have to give their reasoning. These six pre-reading reflection questions get students' brains activated and thinking about various themes, lessons, and ideas they will come across in the novel. It is great to see what students are thinking on these big topics before they begin the novel!! Not only is it fun and engaging for your students, the responses students give are also very interesting to read as a teacher!
** Research has shown that deeper comprehension takes place when students are engaged in activities that bridge prior knowledge with what they are about to learn. This product will help students connect the novel to their already existing knowledge in order to make the new reading more stimulating and engaging.
