For most decodable readers the writer can ‘make up’ a story by choosing from only these types of words. However, to accurately tell the Bible story, I had to use a few sight words and Bible vocabulary.

These are not meant to be in-depth Bible lessons. These are meant to support your reading program, integrating the Bible into early learning!

Print these fun bookmarks on colored or white cardstock and provide them to your students. The goal is to challenge the students to read and keep up with the number of books they read. Once they have finished a book, they are to color it to reflect they have finished the book.

You may also choose to laminate and them and have them use a permanent marker to cross out the emoji.

Halloween and fall fun with scrambled sentences! Scrambled sentences are a great way to practice capitalization, comprehension, fluency, content, sight words, content words and punctuation! And with this Halloween & fall themed sentence scramble sampler pack, it's also fun! Students read, cut & paste, write, and draw with each sentence.

This is a SAMPLER pack. It has FOUR themed pages, one each from October's theme - spiders, bats, pumpkins, and Halloween. It also has two blank pages that you can hand write your own sentences onto.

If you like the sampler, and want the full packs, just follow the links below under the bundle tab. They lead to both the October bundle, and the individual sets.

For each set, there are 10 pages with an eight word sentence, plus punctuation at the bottom of each page. You also get 5 blank templates that you can hand write your own sentences onto, if you want harder or easier sentences. You and your students read the words together, then cut them apart. Students then arrange them into sentence form and glue them into the boxes at the top. Students can then write the sentence on the handwriting line provided, then illustrate the sentence in the box provided. Finally, students can practice fluency by reading the sentences to each other or to the teacher.

These were made originally for seat work for a first grade friend, but I have a fellow kindergarten teacher who is using it in a small group with her high students. These would be good from K-2 in teacher led small groups, intervention, enrichment, or independent seat work, depending upon their reading / writing abilities.

Have you ever wished students in the prereading and early reading stage could have opportunities to be fluent and build automaticity? How can students who barely know letter names and sounds become fluent? Ready Reads are just what you are looking for.

Ready Reads are warm up activities for the eyes and the brain and can support any curriculum. Ready Read charts cumulatively follow the scope and sequence of UFLI and support the Science of Reading. Use these in small group, whole group on the projector, in partners for accountability, or for students to whisper read to themselves. They can easily be adapted in an I read, We read, You read or Your turn, My turn format. Ready Reads can be used for students to say the letter name and/or the letter sound practicing grapheme recognition as well as phoneme recall.
