Beginner French Review Activities - BUNDLE
By Love Learning Languages - French Resources
Are you looking for a solid set of French review activities for your beginner French students? When students have been taught all of the grammar they need to know to move along to the next level, it's always a good idea to go back and review before back to school rolls around.
Everything you teach them in the very beginning never goes away (even though you need to move on). These are the building blocks students need to have completely mastered in order to make good progress in the future. This review is not just a bunch of worksheets! This package includes all sorts of resources to make practicing basic French fun and entertaining.
This is not a set of French 1 lessons, but rather a set of French 1 review materials. Answer keys are provided for all activities.
These resources are meant to be used as individual activities, so my review games are not included. If you want a more complete program to use throughout the school year, check out my French 1 curriculum: Ça y est, Je parle français!
All of the grammar included in this package is listed below, and you can have a look at my 90 day pacing calendar in the preview.
This package includes materials that can be used all the way through French 4 as quick, fun, and informal assessments.
Note: French 1 Practice Activity is not included in the pacing calendar as it is the only resource that isn't a printable. However, it's one you'll love guiding your students through!
This program is one you can have students work on over the summer, as an end of the year review, or as a back to school review. These materials will have students doing a little basic French 1 level material every single day.
Here are just a few ways you can use this program:
Use it or lose it: 90 days of summer review materials + 90 day pacing calendar (bundle bonus). Using the package this way will have students doing 15 minutes or so of French every day for 3 months, or they can do double time and finish the program in 1.5 months by only doing 30 minutes a day.
Back to school review materials - This package will make doing a thorough review of French 1 grammar at the beginning of French 2 a breeze. If you use the package this way, you can plan for each activity to take 10 - 20 minutes depending on the class. You could have students complete several a day, use them as bell-ringer activities, include them in literacy centers, assign them as homework, offer them as extra credit, etc. I recommend following the sequencing on the pacing calendar if you want students to review grammar in the same order they likely learned it.
Back to basics - Practicing basics when you've moved on to something else: There comes a point where we as teachers need to move on with new material. Who can review for 3 months??? You can keep these resources available to use as fun "pop-up reviews" at any time of the year (and with any level!). These are resources you can use to continuously reinforce the basics you taught your students way back in the beginning. This is a nice way to make sure they haven't missed out on any important grammar that they should have learned from the start. I do this a lot, and I'm amazed at how effective it is!
Year long French 1 resources: Pull out what you need from this package as you teach it in French 1, and have students complete the assignments as a way to review, practice, and test themselves.

WHY BUY THIS?
Aren’t we all a little more engaged when material is presented to us in a fun way? Turning a simple worksheet or practice test into a review game captures students’ attention and increases their motivation to participate. If your classroom is anything like mine, you know that behavior problems are minimal when student engagement is high.
With this customizable game board, you can turn any worksheet, practice test, or topic into an irresistible game that students are begging you to play.
I know it can be nearly impossible to find pre-made review games that perfectly align with your curriculum.
Let’s say you're a 4th-grade teacher using the Bridges math curriculum and want to review for the unit 3 math test at the end of the week.
The odds of finding a review game for this specific test on TeachShare are pretty slim, so save the time spent searching for something and create a game yourself.
This editable template allows you to create a jeopardy-style review game to match exactly what you want students to learn and practice. Just divide the material into the main categories and input the questions and answers into the game board. BOOM, it’s ready to play!
I’ve even included a question planning template and step-by-step instructions to make the planning process even easier for you!
The options are endless. Create as many different games as you want and play them for years to come.

Objective: The objective of the game "Oops" is to get your teammates to guess a word without using certain pre-defined words or phrases associated with it - these are called "Oopsies"
Gameplay:
The clue giver selects a number from the selection board, revealing the word to be described as well as the "oopsies" associated with it.
The clue giver must then describe the word without using any of the "oopsies".
The guessers on the team try to guess the word based on the clues given. The guesser sits with their back turned to the slide, while the clue giver faces the slide.
The guesser can make as many guesses as they want within 1 minute.
If a teammate guesses the word correctly, the team earns a point. However, if the clue giver uses an "oopsie," they forfeit a point.
After the minute is up or the word is correctly guessed, play passes to the next team.
Play continues back and forth until all the slides have been used or a set number of rounds has been completed.
The team with the most number of points wins.
