Need a creative way for your students to demonstrate their learned knowledge?

Have your students create a "Cultural Cube", using the 5 Geographical Themes. The student will be assigned or chose a country to study based on our current studies and will create illustrations for each theme related to their country. To support their findings, they will complete the Think, Pair, & Share handout to use when presenting their cube.

OBJECTIVE:

The Learner will explore the cultural, political, physical, and environmental aspects of a country through the 5 Geographical Themes.

o The Leaner will make connections between relationships and places.

o The Learner will demonstrate his/her understanding of the 5 Geographical Themes through illustration and written explanation.

o The Learner will explain his/her knowledge of the country and themes by presenting his/her final product.

MATERIALS:

o Copies of the Culture Cube preferably on cardstock for sturdiness, if possible. (1 Per Student)

o Copies of the Culture Cube: Think, Pair & Share (1 Per Student)

o Rulers, scissors, glue, colored pencils, crayons, markers, rulers

o Tools for research: Internet, books on countries, magazines, textbooks, etc.

Thanksgiving is finally here, and as your students are about to find out, this Turkey Day will be unlike any other. For this year’s feast, you’re inviting three special guests who will travel through time to join you! In this Thanksgiving-themed biography project, students will research the lives of three historical figures, plan out the perfect Thanksgiving dinner, and reflect on what each of their famous guests would be thankful for this holiday season!

Students will create a poster or digital presentation to discuss their historical figures and their Thanksgiving feast!

It includes two projects that are fast and fun. The first one is a current events mural. It includes the rubric, examples, and a guide. The second one is an Instagram mockup post. This, like the mural project, tends to be one of the students' favorite activities because it resonates with them. As a bonus, it includes an activity that helps generate a podcast outline. These activities can be completed quickly and are foolproof. They can be done at Spanish levels 2 through AP Spanish.

This product includes a research report template. Students will answer the following questions: name of president, when the president was born, when the president died, how many years in office the president was, how many terms the president served, who the vice president was at the time the president was in office, two challenges the president faced, two accomplishments the president achieved, and three interesting facts that were learned. There is a section for students to print out a picture or draw a picture of the president. At the end of the template, there is a section for resources as well. Signs are provided for each question throughout the template.

There is an example provided at the end of the template as well that includes information about George Washington.

The students finished product could be made into a vertical poster (as seen in the thumbnail photo) and glue the black sections to the back of each page or cut the templates out and create a booklet.

You may hear about natural disasters often, but some of the deadliest disasters in world history have been environmental disasters caused by human activity. This lesson involves having your students investigate environmental disasters that have taken place on our planet. Their initial focus will be to examine the Chernobyl disaster in the Soviet Union. A fun and engaging March Madness, end-of-year, or anytime project for your history class!

Students work together to find the Historical "Signif-Events" of 100 major events in human history and then narrow it down to one final champion through debate, presentations, writing, and a tournament bracket!

Students will create presentations to argue why their event is the most significant, debate and vote as a class in each tournament matchup, and write about the world if their event had never happened!

Project includes:

- Overview and instructions to 4 main parts of the project

- List of 100 Significant Events from human history

- A 100 team bracket to be used during the project

This is a great resource for students to become familiar with key terms relating to World War II.
