• Place the 25 different topics into a container and mix them up to ensure random selection.

Are you looking for a community building speaking activity for the beginning of school in which the students can get to know each other while reviewing the present tense? This is a great Back to School ice breaker activity for levels Spanish 2, 3 or 4 for the first month of school or if you want to give the students an opportunity to get out of their seats and talk to their classmates. This would be a fun social emotional activity since it promotes positive communication among the students in the class. It is also an interactive way to reinforce the present tense at the beginning of the year. This BINGO card is a great ice breaker for the first days of Spanish class! Each student receives a card and then moves around the classroom meeting new people and asking questions to get to know them better. When they find someone who can say "Yes" to a box, they will cross it off and write that person's name on it. The first person to get a BINGO reads their card out loud so the class can get to know their new friends as well!

This activity is designed for students with no previous Spanish knowledge (MS Spanish, Intro to Languages, Foundations of Spanish, and Spanish I), but my returning Spanish 2 students loved it as well. This card is in English for beginning Spanish learners.
