How to Play Bottle Flip

• Place students into random partners and give each set of partners a water bottle to flip
• Print discussion cards for each group
• Have students get out paper for scoring
• The oldest student flips first
• If they flip the bottle and it lands upright, the flipper gets 2 points, and then its their partners turn to flip
• If they flip the bottle and it does not land upright, they have to draw and answer a random question
• If the flipper answers the question, they get one point. If the student does not answer or says “I don’t know,” the OTHER student gets the point and they get to take their turn
• play for 10 minutes and switch partners!

Play French scattergories when you need quick, no prep activities to play with your class while they practice their French February / Février vocabulary, oral, and written skills. These categories games includes many activities with a French February vocabulary theme which work well as ice-breakers.

This resource includes many references to American historical figures, holidays and general culture.

This is a really fun activity to play with your students as they practice and build their February themed vocabulary. Students of all ages can play this vocabulary game. Perfect for core and French immersion curriculums.

Players attempt to create answers for each of the four categories for each game on their game card. 4 game cards are included for a total of 12 games and 48 categories. This should be a fast moving game and there are only spaces for six words per category. The MAXIMUM they can write is six words so they have to choose them wisely. Students can be creative and flexible with their answers, but other players can challenge them!

12 games are included with 48 different categories! Just print out the game sheets and you're ready to go. For younger students you can allow more time for thinking and writing, while older students will love the challenge of the timer.

Teaching French hiver - winter vocabulary?  Looking for an engaging way to get your French students to build their communication skills and vocabulary? Taboo is a fun French speaking and listening game where one student has to guess a word based on clues given in French by other students. The catch is that they cannot mention anything that is included in a list of taboo words.

Classic French Taboo Games Bundle - 3 Versions

Object of the game:

One player tries to get his teammate to guess the word at the top of a card. The player must give clues, but he can't use any of the Taboo words in his description. The taboo words are written beneath the underlined word at the top of the card.

Teams score points for each word successfully guessed. The team with the most points at the end of the game wins.

Beginner students should be allowed to use the French TABOO words printed on the cards. This will encourage them to use new vocabulary and will help them in forming sentences to use as clues.

Winter Vocabulary - ESL Taboo Speaking Game

Playing TABOO is a great way to get ESL students to speak English and learn a lot of new vocabulary. This game is simple to modify and use with beginners and advanced students alike. In this **WINTER (not Christmas related)**version of the game there are 28 playing cards. I've included 2 fun ways to play this fun vocabulary game and both are explained in the instructions.

This ESL Taboo game includes the following:

How to play classic Taboo (beginner and advanced levels)
30 Taboo game cards to print, laminate, cut out and hook together with a ring
Black and white and grayscale copies are included
PDF for projecting one card at a time for a whole class activity
How to play 15 MINUTES MAX - an alternative version of the game
15 MINUTES MAX game board

*In the upper left corner there's a spot for you to punch holes in the cards so that you can then attach them with a ring for no prep use every time. Be sure to laminate if at all possible.

Play French scattergories when you need quick, no prep activities to play with your class while they practice their French winter / l'hiver and January vocabulary, oral, and written skills. These categories games includes many activities with a French winter vocabulary theme which work well as ice-breakers.

This is a really fun activity to play with your students as they practice and build their January themed vocabulary. Students of all ages can play this vocabulary game. Perfect for core and French immersion curriculums.

⭐ January Scattergories Game

Players attempt to create answers for each of the four categories on their game. This should be a fast moving game and there are only spaces for six words per category. The MAXIMUM they can write is six words so they have to choose them wisely. Students can be creative and flexible with their answers, but other players can challenge them!

12 games are included with 48 different categories! For younger students you can allow more time for them to think and write, while older students will love the challenge of the timer.

There are many ways you can use this set of cards: ➤ Print, laminate, cut out, punch holes and attach on a ring for small groups to ask and answer questions. ➤ Project the pdf file in class to work in group or with your whole class and avoid printing. ➤ Use as a warm-up speaking activity with a conversation partner. As students enter the classroom have them choose 2-3 cards from a box. ➤ Students who finish their work earlier than others can choose a few of the cards and write out correct answers to false statements. ➤ Use as exit tickets. Give each student a card before the end of class and as they walk out of the room they tell the teacher their answer. ➤ Stations: Put students into groups and divide the cards amongst them. Have groups rotate to a new station as they finish the cards. ➤ Scoot: Put one card on each desk in the classroom. Give each student a response sheet and set a timer to give them just enough time to answer true or false and to correct the false statements. When the timer rings students move on to the next desk and the next question. All cards are numbered so it is simple to stay organized. Full instructions are included. ➤ Use the cards with board games. Students must answer a question in order to move. ➤ Use the cards as an icebreaker activity at the beginning of the school year or right after school holidays. ➤ Great resource for tutoring sessions and vocabulary building.
