During the COVID pandemic, students across the world transitioned to online learning. Online learning has been a difficult experience for them, and this struggle has affected them in many ways – academically, emotionally, mentally, and physically. Switching from traditional classroom and face to face learning to computer-based learning in a virtual classroom makes the learning experience entirely different for students. For many, the abrupt transition to a new learning format has left them with questions and concerns, a lack of motivation, stress, anxiety, and discouragement – experiences that can (or have) ultimately affected their academic performance and sense of well-being.

This highly relevant resource features 40 Remote Learning Challenges Scenarios that students (and teachers) experience on a daily basis since the transition to online learning! The scenarios can be used to increase students’ awareness of the challenges they’re facing and confront them appropriately.

************************************************************************************************************

  • Explore and evaluate best solutions to online learning challenges
  • Brainstorm effective coping skills and strategies
  • Practice social skills in a virtual classroom
  • Develop and utilize effective strategies to successfully adapt to online learning
  • Manage their emotions in difficult situations and when under pressure
  • Navigate difficult situations
  • Effectively communicate with others
  • Practice perspective-taking
  • Develop empathy for others who experience the same challenges (or worse)

************************************************************************************************************
The topics featured in these scenarios include:

  • Adaptability Struggle
  • Lack of Motivation
  • Technical Issues / Connectivity (Disrupting Learning and Work)
  • Computer Literacy

Preterite vs Imperfect Spanish Story Worksheet Cenicienta in the Past Tense Emergency Sub Plans

By Senorita Creativa

Are your students struggling with differentiating the preterite vs imperfect tenses? Then these engaging fairy tale activities are just what you've been looking for! This fun resource based around the classic story of Cinderella (Cenicienta) is an easy-to-use and low-prep way to practice the preterite and imperfect, along with reading comprehension skills. To make this resource even better, it also includes Google Slides™ versions, perfect for learning stations, independent assignments, distance learning, make-up work, and more!

Here's what you'll get:

✅ two versions of the story (multiple choice and fill-in-the-blank)

✅ illustrated PowerPoint version of the story

✅ two sets of comprehension questions (true/false and short answer)

✅ 6 google forms™️ included for assessment

✅ answer keys for stories and questions

✅ short photo vocab lists to teach major vocab and characters

✅ coordinating vocab PowerPoint

✅ blank storyboard (for students to illustrate the story)

✅ teaching tips

✅ ideas for extension activities

The familiar story of Cinderella is a perfect way to practice and assess your students’ knowledge of the preterite and imperfect tenses in Spanish with easy differentiation. Students love these activities because they use stories that they are already familiar with, making them more comprehensible, turning this tricky grammar topic from dry and boring to engaging and fun!

This resource makes a great emergency sub plan (2 days’ worth of material), homework assignment, or formative assessment. These stories are great for Spanish 2 or as a review of the Preterite vs Imperfect tenses at the beginning of Spanish 3 or 4.

Prepping this resource couldn't be any easier - just print out the pages you want to use with your students and make enough copies! Don't have time to make copies or have a last-minute sub? Use the comprehensible and engaging story powerpoint with your students or assign the Google Slides™ version story and questions.

This resources includes two versions of the same story:

  • Version A has the verbs already conjugated, and the students must choose between the preterite and imperfect tenses of the verb.
  • Version A also includes true/false comprehension questions in the past tense and students must correct the false statements.
  • Version B includes only the infinitive, so they must first decide which tense to use (preterite or imperfect) and then fill in the blank with the correct form of the verb.
  • Version B also includes comprehension questions to be answered in complete sentences in Spanish in the past tense.

Each version of the story with questions is two pages long. The two different versions make differentiation simple!

TEACHERS LIKE YOU SAID…

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Kathryn B. says, "This is an extensive, thoughtful resource that was easy-to-implement and provided my students lots exposure to preterite and imperfect. Many commented that the story format really helped them better understand the uses of the two tenses. I look forward to using more story resources from this seller next year!"

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Lydia P. says, "My students had to work REALLY hard at this, but it did exactly what it was supposed to in Spanish 2 to differentiate between preterite and imperfect!"

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Sra Stevenson says, "I love these stories and activities! The differentiation is perfect too."

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Johnna W. says, "Great way to get students to practice with past tenses."
