This resource features 25 motivational/inspirational quotes and multiple writing prompts that come in 4 variations + DIGITAL = 5 variations! They can be used as positive/growth mindset, reflection, or discussion activities at the beginning, during, or end of class – or “just because” activities. The quotes have been strategically selected to ensure that they are relevant for students and that they can relate and make personal connections to them.

These motivational/inspirational quotes and writing prompts can help promote a positive growth mindset in your classroom.

EACH of the Motivational Quotes include up to three questions:

1. What is your reaction to this quote?
2. What is your interpretation of this quote? Do you agree or disagree with it, and why?

Each slide in this file includes a unique background paper with the quote, author’s name, and a list of three questions. Students do not type their responses in these slides. Geography summer school and camps don't give us enough time to cover all the concepts and topics that need to be covered. Squeezing the curriculum

8 months is difficult; covering it over 6-8 weeks is impossible. There is so much information and so little time. This leaves us as educators with the question of what are the important aspects to cover. Having taught middle school level and high school level geography for 11 years, I have pulled out what I feel is a must!

A working knowledge of geography concepts is helpful in teaching this material. If you do not understand geography or if you have never taught geography before, no problem! Simply, read through the student material so you can help your students understand and complete the included activities.
