Present Tense Verbs Bundle - Spanish Sorting Activity for -ar, -er, -ir Verbs

By Senorita Creativa

Do your students struggle to grasp the difference between various verb endings? This verb-sorting activity will give them hands-on practice with this often tricky topic! In each of the three activities included in this bundle, your students will sort the given list of 36 conjugated Spanish verbs into six categories: yo, , él/ella/usted, nosotros, vosotros, and ellos/ellas/ustedes. You could easily adapt this activity for other tenses, simply by providing your own list. In addition to the hands-on practice, each resource also includes two worksheet versions with the same verbs.

All three resources in this bundle contain:

  • one verb sorting sheet
  • one page of thirty six conjugated verbs in Spanish with dotted lines for cutting
  • one worksheet where students choose the correct subject pronoun and translate the verb to English
  • one worksheet where students choose the correct subject pronoun and write an original sentence in Spanish using the indicated verb
  • answer keys for the sentence sorting sheet and both worksheets
  • tips for using the resource and a table of contents

The resources included in this bundle practice regular -ar, -er, and -ir verbs in the present tense, and there are a total of 108 verbs practiced in this bundle.

This activity works well individually and in small groups and would be a great introductory activity (by using inductive reasoning), application, or review activity. Although designed for use in level one, it also makes a great review for Spanish two.
