Feeling Misunderstood Social Story and Role-Playing Scenarios

This product includes 1 social story that focuses on being misunderstood. Vocabulary that is reviewed and discussed in depth include misunderstood, communication, judge, feeling insecure, anxiety, depression, positive self-esteem, and negative self-esteem.
Students will learn about feeling misunderstood, how someone could feel misunderstood, what can cause someone to feel misunderstood, how someone feels when they have positive self-esteem, how someone feels when they have negative self-esteem, how to build self esteem, and if someone feels misunderstood how they would feel.
One social story that focuses on feeling misunderstood is included in this product. The social story includes comprehension questions throughout. Some of the questions require students to put their feet in the shoes of the characters. This product shares with students the importance of communicating how one feels when they feel misunderstood, listening to others, understanding others point of view or feelings, and discussing interests that are different amongst friends/family members.

There is ONE Anticipation Guide that comes in two different variations:
▶️ Variation #1:
⭐ Part 1: The first section of the Anticipation Guide features a list of statements alongside columns labeled "AGREE" and "DISAGREE." Students are tasked with reading each statement and marking either "AGREE" or "DISAGREE" based on their perspective.
⭐ Part 2: The second section of the Anticipation Guide prompts students to choose a statement from the list above and delve into its significance to them. There is ONE Toxic Behavior Self-Assessment included in this resource. Students will assess their likelihood of engaging in toxic behaviors and interactions with others by scoring the statements using the following scale: 2 for “Regularly,” 1 for “Occasionally,” and 0 for “Never.”
