Reading Medicine Labels - BUNDLE

This resource is designed to expose students to a variety of real over the counter medications that they would find in their local pharmacies, grocery stores, general merchandise retailer or even in their medicine cabinets at home. Students will read the medicine labels closely and answer questions to show understanding. This resource introduces medications that are taken at different times of day (A.M. & P.M.), different ways to take medications (pill, syrup, chewable tablet), and where to look to find out important information such as what the medication treats, how long the medication works for, and what strength the dosage is.

Knowing what signs indicate sensory needs is imperative for adults working with students with autism or sensory processing disorders. This poster gives indicators of ONE type of sensory need 'vestibular'. It also pairs signs that a student may be over or underresponsive to vestibular sensory and activities to help the student self-regulate under either circumstance. Students will also examine the given budget to calculate the individual total income, expenses, money saved, and identify additional ways for individuals to save.
