Where is the present? This Christmas sight word game is great for students who are practicing sight word recognition and beginning reading skills. This game can be used in a pocket chart or on a table top for an early education classroom.

What is Included:

• Sight word cards for the second grade sight word list.
• Present cards for hiding

The cards are available in two formats, 6 to a page and 4 to a page to accommodate different sized pocket charts.

Ways to Use:

• small group game
• whole class game
• circle time game
• student led literacy center
• one on one instruction to target specific sight words for struggling students

How to Play:

Where's the Present is a game for centers or whole group instruction where a present is hidden behind a Christmas tree. A poem is chanted where the student(s) must say the sight word they think the present is behind. Once guessed, the sight word is removed. If the present is behind the Christmas tree, then the present must be hidden again to play further. If the present is not behind the Christmas tree, then the poem is chanted again with a new sight word.

This product contains all 46 Second Grade Sight Words:

If they finished they could choose from the extra activities. Answer key is included!

This Reader's Theater is a companion activity to the book “The Night Before the Night Before Christmas” by Natasha Wing. It will enable the children to enjoy the story even more as well as increase reading fluency and speaking skills.

About the Book

Two days before Christmas, an overworked family laments with a familiar rhyme that they have too much to do.

There are two versions included. The only difference between the versions is the number of parts. One version has roles for three students, the other version has roles for four students. Each version is 5 pages.

As Farmer Brown prepares the house for Christmas, Duck tries to play Santa but gets stuck in the chimney, along with all the other animals who try to help.

There are four versions included. Two of the versions have roles for two students. The other two versions have roles for three students. The four versions are two or three pages each. You can see the different versions in the PDF preview.
