Use this activity to sequence the events in There was an Old Lady who Swallowed a Turkey. Each event is pictured on a turkey feather that, when completed, creates an adorable turkey that sequences the story. Print on cardstock to make it more durable or mat it on a large piece of construction paper. Students will color and cut out the turkey feathers and body, glue them together, and have a great "craftivity" that tells what happens in this adorable book.

Where is the penguin? This winter sight word game is great for students who are practicing sight word recognition and beginning reading skills. This game can be used in a pocket chart or on a table top for an early education classroom.

What is Included:

How to Play:

Where's the Penguin is a game for centers or whole group instruction where a penguin is hidden behind a snowball. 3 Little Pigs with a twist- Part of my first story of my Bilingual Series

Tales with a twist is designed to give students a familiar feel, but with surprising elements throughout the story.

It is not direct translation rather I focused in translating the stories in a way they feel right and are authentic.

Second graders enjoy a good Stink Moody story. Just enough gross stuff for the boys and just enough humor for everyone! Stink books appeal to 3rd and 4th grade students also! Guided reading groups are a great time to work on fluency, word recognition, and phonics skills. Students will love working with the teacher in a close, small group setting. Stink and the Shark Sleepover is book nine in the Stink series. The format is half page (my students LOVE the smaller booklet format). I copy the pages single sided. This allows a blank side for further word work or notes I may want the students to write down. Included in the packet: -comprehension questions for each chapter -word work tasks (verbs, adjectives, compound words, two-syllable words) Stink and the Shark Sleepover is an AR level 3.2 book. ~ The One Hundredth Day of School! is a great book to connect with the 100th day of school. Guided reading groups will enjoy making connections to their own projects, activities, classroom and school. The 10 page packet can easily be differentiated. ~Questions are based on Bloom’s Taxonomy and use higher level thinking skills. Students also think beyond the text to respond to many questions. Many questions elicit story recall responses. ~Included in the unit: -comprehension questions for each chapter -Ready, Freddy game – focus on characters and their actions ~ When I use this unit with one of my guided reading groups, the unit can last from a week to two weeks depending on how often the group meets. My guided reading groups also set their own expectations/assignments for completing their books.
