Where is the present? This Christmas sight word game is great for students who are practicing sight word recognition and beginning reading skills. This game can be used in a pocket chart or on a table top for an early education classroom.

3 Little Pigs with a twist- Part of my first story of my Bilingual Series

Tales with a twist is designed to give students a familiar feel, but with surprising elements throughout the story.

This packet is a literature response to So Much. It can be used as a literature response for a book club or as a whole class reading comprehension packet. There are prompts on when to answer each response page in the upper right corner in blue. This book is at a Level I. Reading Comprehension Strategies Addressed- - Predicting - Visualizing - Short Answer Response - Questioning - Grammar - Opinion

Inferencing activity that could be done as a whole group activity or as part of literacy stations. This is a quick and ready to go activity. This set has 12 events that students makes inferences as to what happened. I have included a set of "answers" based on the ones I have used with my class. I used this resource with one of my guided reading groups. They completed the packet as they read the story "The Big Wave" by Pearl S. Buck. If they finished they could choose from the extra activities. Answer key is included!

Guided reading group time has always been a favorite time in my classroom. Students love the closeness of the small group and reading a book chosen just for them! Stink and the Ultimate Thumb-Wrestling Smackdown is book six in the Stink series. The format is half page (my students LOVE the smaller booklet format). I print the pages on one side of the paper. This allows the back of the page available to use for additional notes or vocabulary work. Guided reading groups will enjoy making connections to their own projects, activities, classroom and school. The 10 page packet can easily be differentiated. ~Questions are based on Bloom’s Taxonomy and use higher level thinking skills. Students also think beyond the text to respond to many questions. Many questions elicit story recall responses. ~Included in the unit: -comprehension questions for each chapter -Ready, Freddy game – focus on characters and their actions ~ When I use this unit with one of my guided reading groups, the unit can last from a week to two weeks depending on how often the group meets. My guided reading groups also set their own expectations/assignments for completing their books.
