This is a discussion activity to go along with the Lorax movie. There are 6 prompts for students to discuss. Either in a whole group or split into groups, the students will discuss the prompts. This is a great activity to go along with after watching, good practice with supporting their claims and opinions with facts, and good practice for their discussion skills!

Disccusion Prompts

There are 6 different different prompts for the students to discuss. Cut out each prompt so the groups can have the prompt they need to focus on. I would recommend either splitting them into groups and passing the prompts out, or taping the prompts to the wall and have the groups move to each spot in the room for the prompt.

The prompts will have the students discussing characters, real world applications, greed, and theme!

I used this resource with one of my guided reading groups. They completed the packet as they read the story "Once Upon A Fairy Tale: The Stolen Slipper" by Anna Staniszewski and illustrated by Macy Pamintuan. If they finished they could choose from the extra activities. Answer key is included!

~ Winter of the Ice Wizard literature unit can be used with a guided reading group or as a whole class novel study. ~ Questions use higher level thinking skills. Vocabulary sheet is included. Complete the vocabulary words prior to starting the book. ~ I use this unit with one of my guided reading groups. This reader’s theater is 4 pages long. There are two version included in this reader's theater. The first version is for three students - Child, Adult, and Other Animals. The other version is for 7 students - Child, Adult, Rabbit, Girl Frog, Cat, Owl and Pig.

I used this resource with one of my guided reading groups. They completed the packet as they read the story "The Boxcar Children" (Time to Read Level 2) Based on the book by Gertrude Chandler Warner. If they finished they could choose from the extra activities provided. Answer key is included!
