I personally use these texts with Grade 1 and Grade 2 students in French Immersion. Where is the Object? These seasonal sight word game is great for students who are practicing sight word recognition and beginning reading skills. This game can be used in a pocket chart or on a table top for an early education classroom.

3 Little Pigs with a twist- Part of my first story of my Bilingual Series

Tales with a twist is designed to give students a familiar feel, but with surprising elements throughout the story.

This Reader's Theater is a companion activity to the book “The Night Before Class Picture Day” by Natasha Wing. It will enable the children to enjoy the story even more as well as increase reading fluency and speaking skills.

About the Book

It's the night before class picture day, and kids all down the block are getting ready. Everyone wants to look perfect for the photo. They fix their hair, practice smiles, and choose outfits. At school the next day, they try to stay picture-perfect. Will everything look perfect for the big moment when they say, “Cheese?”

There are four versions included. Two of the versions have roles for three students. One version is three pages and the other version has four pages. The other two versions have roles for four students. One version is three pages and the other version has four pages. You can see the different versions in the PDF preview.

Pull out a specific question as an introduction to a mini lesson. Keep them on hand as you assess understanding during/after a read aloud or novel.

Choose a card for the student to respond to during and/or after your classroom independent reading time. They could use the response sheet to write their answer. Send home with parents so they can have a variety of questions to ask their child as they read at home.

Fun and engaging Back to School reading posters to foster a positive attitude in the French Immersion or Core French classroom to the world of reading.

I use these posters in my book nook in my classroom so students can explore the world of imagination contained in books.

Posters include:

Each poster has great graphics with children reading and background with a geographic theme

3 different colour schemes to choose from or you could mix and match

Appropriate audience:

I use these posters in my French Immersion classroom with Grade 1 and Grade 2 students. I feel confident that they could be used for any grade from K-6. They are ideal for classroom decor, bulletin boards, and quiet reading area for young readers.

What grade level:

I personally use these texts with Grade 1 and Grade 2 students in French Immersion. I feel confident that students from K-3 will find these most useful and teachers can come back to the texts with any students who may be experiencing challenges in their French reading skills. Core French teachers will be sure to add the resource to their repertoire for Grades 4 to 6 as they learn to read and write at the Junior level.
