Create and display the TRUE meaning of Christmas**! Daily Devotions, Prayers, Scripture Readings, Ornaments & Advent Tree** are ALL included in this Jesse Tree resource to give you all you need to engage learners every day of this advent season!
This advent activity is called “The Jesse Tree” because of the Bible verse in Isaiah that describes a shoot, which is like a bud or new leaf, coming up from a tree stump of Jesse. Jesse’s family will grow and grow through the years; eventually, Jesus will be born! So this is sort of like Jesus’ family tree!
You will get:
Daily Devotions: 1 introduction and 25 daily devotions that will guide you and your children/students in a daily Scripture reading, devotion, and prayer. Read aloud to a younger class or have older learners read themselves.
Ornaments: 25 Ready to print and cut-out ornaments, provided in color and black and white.

With this in mind, you will find The Jesse Tree has been designed in many different ways and created with varying Bible stories and images and this is ok. Need an awesome Art Unit? I have just the thing for you! This creative Fingerprint Flower Garden Scene was designed to be printed and displayed as examples while you teach. Use this Google Slide file to display these beautiful images one-by-one on a large screen. For this assignment, I asked students to use their pointer finger (no paint brush) to create the flower pedals. Students filled the paper with fingerprint flowers for one class period. During the second-class period, students used crayons and color markers to draw stems, leaves, grass, insects, and other things in their scene. I hope you and your kiddos love this! Enjoy.

In this product, The Reading Street - What Jo Did is read and reviewed. In this product, students will read the comprehension passage, What Jo Did. Students will review the selection vocabulary words: fouled, hoop, jersey, marveled, rim, speechless, swatted, and unbelievable. Examples of each selection vocabulary word are used in sentences. Students have the opportunity to make up a sentence using each selection vocabulary word as well. Students will review/learn what a fiction text is and will have the opportunity to come up with possible fiction story ideas. As students read the text, What Jo Did, they can answer comprehension questions. They can complete these questions individually, in a small group, or with support. There are several pages of comprehension questions in this packet that differ from the questions asked in the teacher edition. The questions from the text are adapted in this packet to meet each of your student's needs. At the end of the packet, students will answer comprehension questions about the author, Charles R. Smith Jr. based on the passage from the text.

The Berenstain Bears and the Messy Room comprehension questions product is useful for students that read the book. The questions are placed in order with the book. Students can answer these questions as the book is read or after they have finished reading the book or listening to the book. While reading this book and answering these questions, students will learn about working together to complete a job, accomplishing more when working together instead of arguing, cleaning up after yourself and how it helps you to find things, organization vs. disorganization, and donating things that you do not need or play with anymore. Students can answer these short answer questions, true/false questions, multiple choice questions, fill in the blank questions, and vocabulary/picture labeling questions as the book is read to them, as they read the book independently or they can use the text for lookbacks once the book is finished. Vocabulary words, their meanings, and examples of the words used in sentences are presented. Students have the opportunity to use those words in sentences as well.

The selection vocabulary words are also included with this packet. The meaning of the vocabulary word and a picture that shows what each word is is also included. Students will be required to come up with a sentence using each selection word.

Solid Read Aloud is a monthly classroom read aloud that focuses on poetry for first, second, and third graders. The following poems and books are used throughout the unit: Bats, Flying Bats, and Those Bats from Can Teach; Stellaluna by Janell Cannon; Bats by Gail Gibbons. The Bat Solid Read Aloud is designed for a week long duration. During this week the read aloud will include: poetry, fiction, and nonfiction selections. Also included, poetry writing connection, graphic organizers, writing project, and art connection. This read aloud plan can easily be extended to fit a two week duration. The read aloud week will culminate with an art project which is used to display the students’ final writing piece. Additional Solid Read Aloud units include: September Solid Read Aloud - Good Neighbor Day Reptiles - October Sundae Day - November April Solid Read Aloud - Earth Day Monthly units will be added throughout the school year. Need an awesome Art Unit? I have just the thing for you! This creative Fingerprint Flower Garden Scene was designed to be printed and displayed as examples while you teach. Use this Google Slide file to display these beautiful images one-by-one on a large screen. For this assignment, I asked students to use their pointer finger (no paint brush) to create the flower pedals. Students filled the paper with fingerprint flowers for one class period. During the second-class period, students used crayons and color markers to draw stems, leaves, grass, insects, and other things in their scene. I hope you and your kiddos love this! Enjoy.

The Berenstain Bears and the Bad Dream comprehension questions product is useful for students that read the book. The questions are placed in order with the book. Students can answer these questions as the book is read or after they have finished reading the book or listening to the book. While reading this book and answering these questions, students will learn about hobbies - what they like to doing and dislike doing, what bad dreams/nightmares are, learning that bad dreams/nightmares are not real, and what you can do before bed to relax to prevent bad dreams . Students can answer these short answer questions, yes/no questions, multiple choice questions, and vocabulary/picture labeling questions as the book is read to them, as they read the book independently or they can use the text for lookbacks once the book is finished. Vocabulary words, their meanings, and examples of the words used in sentences are presented. Students have the opportunity to use those words in sentences as well.

Solid Read Alouds not only connect poetry but enhance your curriculum with monthly themes and national observance days. The Inventor Read Aloud is designed for a daily, one week time period.
