Fruit and Vegetable Word and Letter Puzzles
By Three Little Homeschoolers
Match the fruit or veggie to the word and letter in these puzzles! These cover all of the fruits and vegetables in my Fruit and Vegetables Vocabulary Word Wall Cards. There are two styles of puzzles: one is a two piece puzzle with the picture of the produce one one side and the word for it on the other. The other style is a three piece puzzle with one piece showing the word, one piece showing the picture, and the other piece showing the beginning letter of the produce. There are a total of 82 puzzles featuring 18 fruits and 22 vegetables. These are low prep and need to be laminated, but are full color and ready for literacy centers, early finishers, preschool centers and more. They are self-checking with different cuts in the middle that line up, but when I use them I draw a different shape on the back of each puzzle before laminating so that when they're matched, they can be flipped over to check for a complete shape. ***************************************************************************** Looking for other fruit and vegetable activities? English months, days, and seasons game - I have...Who has?
By Love Learning Languages - French Resources
✮ English months, days, and seasons game - I have...Who has? ✮
This version includes 27 cards. Depending on class size you could either give each student more than one card or have them play with a partner. I recommend printing out and laminating these cards if possible so that you can use them over and over again. This is a great resource for ESL or any classroom where English is spoken.
Here's how this game works. Once each student has a card (or cards), the one who has the card that says I'll start the game begins the game. He says, for example, I'll start the game. I have May. Who has Autumn? The person who has the card with autumn on it says, I have autumn. Who has Thursday? And so the game goes on until the last card is called and that student's card will say, The game is over!
Another idea is to prepare two sets of cards, divide your class into two groups and let each group have a go to see which team can get through the entire deck of cards the fastest. It's a lot of fun, and though you can play with younger students the older ones love this game just as much.

Go Fish / 7 Families Game - I CAN STATEMENTS - English
By Love Learning Languages - French Resources
Go Fish / 7 Families Game - I CAN STATEMENTS - English
Go Fish / 7 Families - This classic card game is fun for students of all ages! Looking for easy prep literacy activities for independent work during differentiated reading instruction? This version of the game is for practicing I CAN + VERB to say you know how to do something and is an excellent resource for ESL. Play this game along with my beginner level Dots & Boxes or intermediate level Dots & Boxes activities to provide differentiation, or save money and buy the bundle!
Each of the 7 "families of cards" begins with one of the following, and verbs in the present tense are used in the I - YOU - HE - SHE - WE - THEY forms:
The following verbs are used in this game: SING - SWIM - DRAW - WRITE - DANCE - READ - RUN
Includes:
42 playing cards to print on heavy paper or card stock
How to play
This card game is an excellent way to practice and memorize the verb CAN and the I CAN + VERB construction. It will have your students speaking to each other in English the whole time! They will make affirmative and negative statements about what they can and can't do.
One player distributes five cards to each player (2 to 4 per group). The rest of the cards are placed in a stack in the middle. One player begins the game by asking another player to give him a card. He or she might say, "Do you have I CAN SING?"
The goal is to come up with 7 complete families. The different verbs represent the families. There are 6 cards to a family (I - YOU - HE - SHE - WE - THEY). Students will find it helpful to group together the cards that have the same picture at the top (flower, flip-flops, etc.) If the player doesn't have it, he says "Go fish". If he draws the card that he asked for, he can continue to play and ask someone for another card. Each time a player comes up with all six members of a family, he can make a stack. At the end of the game, the player with the most sets of families wins!

I have ... Who has? ESL - ELL house and home vocabulary activity
By Love Learning Languages - French Resources
❖ I have ... Who has? ESL - ELL house and home vocabulary activity ❖
This is a really fun game to practice with your students who are learning vocabulary about HOUSE AND HOME, and it involves NO PREP. I've included both a beginner and intermediate version of the game. The beginner version has the words written out and the intermediate version only shows pictures. Have a look at the thumbnails to see what they look like.
Each version includes 32 cards. Depending on class size you could either give each student more than one card or have them play with a partner. I recommend printing out and laminating these cards if possible so that you can use them over and over again.
Here's how this activity works. Once each student has a card (or cards), the one who has the card that says "I'll begin" starts the game. He says, for example, "I'll begin. I have the fireplace. Who has the window?" The person who has the card with a window on it says, "I have the window. Who has the curtains?" And so the activity goes on until the last card is called and that student's card will say, "That's the end!"
Another idea is to prepare two sets of cards, divide your class into two groups and let each group have a go to see which team can get through the entire deck of cards the fastest. If the vocabulary is completely new you could start out with the beginner deck and as the words become more familiar you could move on to the intermediate level. It's really a lot of fun, and though you can play with younger students the older ones love this game just as much.
This resource is included in my ESL - ELL speaking, listening, writing activities and games - Growing bundle.
