One of these basic steps is to identify when a shape is divided equally (allowing for a fraction). This DOUBLE set of task cards gives your students ample opportunity to practice identifying equal parts of a fraction, setting them up for understanding the concept of a denominator. Works well with any fractions unit, but also works with Grade 3, Module 5, Eureka Math / Engage NY Math. Your students work in pairs to answer different counting US coins math problems, but the partners have the same answers! A great way to get students to self-check and discuss their math! Great practice for counting money and math talk with lots of student engagement!

Each student solves their first problem. Once finished, the partners check with each other. If their answers are the same, they move on to the next problem. If the students have different answers, there is an error and then they must check each other's work and find the mistake! Counting coins has never been so much fun!
