There is a difference between teasing that is meant to hurt feelings and teasing that is meant to be playful and fun. Help students differentiate between situations where teasing is meant in good fun, and where the teasing crosses the line and becomes hurtful, or even bullying, with these digital tease monster activities! Teach about teasing to minimize tattling, help students identify bully-like behaviors, and improve relationship-building skills.
This fun bullying vs. teasing activity helps students to understand that not everyone reacts or feels the same way in each situation. Scenarios that would not hurt one person’s feelings, may hurt a classmate deeply. It is important for students to realize the impact their actions and words can have on others.

In this elementary school counseling empathy lesson, students will target their understanding of feelings and emotions. Students choose a discussion card, identify the highlighted emotion by sliding the sunglasses up or down, and then discuss how the particular situation on their card would make them feel.
This activity is GREAT for small groups and will allow your students to identify emotions and discuss how they think others might feel in this situation as well.
