Do you have kiddos who struggle with appropriate reactions to situations? This activity can help!
Packed with 20 scenario cards, students will have the opportunity to read through them and decide just how big the problem really is.
Included are three fuzzy monsters; big, medium, and small. Cut them out and laminate them. Have students read each scenario and sort them depending on the size of the problem. (You should have three different sorting piles). If it's a big problem, have them place the scenario card on the big monster. If it’s a medium problem, have them place the scenario card on the medium monster. If it’s a small problem, have them place the scenario card on the small monster.
Works best if all pieces, (monsters and scenario cards) are laminated.
Great for 1:1 or small group sessions.

This is a great way to introduce the concepts of “bucket filling” for the beginning of the year or reminders of self-care and positive and empowering learning environments.
There are a total of 60 cards which includes a particular behaviour and on each card the student is asked to reflect on the situation and choose whether it is a Bucket Filler or a Bucket Dipper. The student may require some reflective questioning should they need prompting as to how and why a behaviour may be a bucket filler or a bucket dipper. These cards are created to facilitate conversation, discussion and insight. This counselor resource is a great card game to help introduce and reinforce learning about coping and calming strategies. These are a great way to start or finish a group counseling session!
Add this resource to your counseling resource toolbox today!
HOW TO PLAY
1.Simply pass out the cards to all the players individually.
2.Encourage everyone to sit in a circle.
3.Pick one player to go first.
4.They are to read one of their cards. For example, “I have Breathing. Who has Exercise?”
5.The next person who has the Exercise card reads their card and so forth.
6.Play continues until all of the cards are read.
7.If you want to make this more challenging, you can time the game and see if you can break your own record!
Simply cut, laminate and keep these cards for a long time! There are a total of 20 cards.
