Activities included:
- Writing prompt: Students will identify how they’re feeling and why.
- Feelings Jar: They’ll have the opportunity to draw what causes certain feelings for them.
- Symmetrical drawing: Students will get to complete the image of the color monster
- Coloring page
Read the book to your students and have them discuss what they’ve heard. Following the discussion, present the activities to them. Can be great for small groups, 1:1 sessions, or whole class.

My Self-Esteem Spider Web - Counseling - CBT Affirmation - SPANISH VERSION

This Mini-Lesson explores positive self talk which is the key to building self esteem.. Persistent low self-esteem can impact an individual's life in many ways. The constant exposure to negative feelings can trigger depression, anger, guilt, shame, anxiety or sadness. These emotions can feel overwhelming at times.
One way that can really help is to change the negative self-talk into positive self-talk. This in turns help to build self-esteem. By improving self-esteem, the student is better able to emotionally regulate which serves to improve many areas of their lives. This mini-lesson serves to change the negative self-talk scripts that students often gravitate towards and move to a more positive and constructive self-talk script.
The example of a spider and its web is used. The more you tell yourself NEGATIVE self-talk, the more it will stick. The more you tell yourself positive self-talk, the more it will stick. Just like a spider catching food in it’s web. Once it’s caught…it's hard to get out. So, the students are empowered to make a choice - to have either positive or negative self talk stuck in their web!
This resource includes many self-talk affirmations and scripts that the students can read and include on their own “self-esteem” spider web. They can choose which ones they want to apply to them. Included are a couple of reflective exercise activity sheets to help students to reflect and gain insight into what is happening for them. This is a great resource for students who would like to explore self-talk and self-esteem!

This product includes 2 social story that focuses on never giving up. Vocabulary that is reviewed and discussed in depth include – never giving up, determined, and persevere.
Students will also learn about the following - What people can say who never plan to give up, what perseverance can teach you, why you should never give up, and what happens if you give up. Two social stories that focus on never giving up. The social stories include comprehension questions throughout. Some of the questions require students to put their feet in the shoes of the characters. This product encourages students to understand the importance of never giving up, not quitting something that may be challenging, trying your best, following the rules, what to do when faced with disappointment, and being determined to achieve goals.
At the end of the product, you will find 4 role-playing cards that relate with never giving up. Students can role-play each situation and talk about how they would feel if they were in the situation.

This product includes 1 social story that focuses on working together and cooperating with others. Vocabulary that is reviewed and discussed in depth include – working together, cooperate, peaceable, and communication.
Students will also learn about the following – examples of teamwork, benefits of teamwork, and disadvantages of teamwork (what happens when you work with someone who isn't pulling their weight).
One social story that focuses on working together is included in this product as well. The social story includes comprehension questions throughout. Some of the questions require students to put their feet in the shoes of the character. This product encourages students to understand the importance of working together, remaining peaceful when working with partners or groups that are not ideal, communicating effectively with a partner or individuals in your group, and solving problems through communication.
At the end of the product, you will find 4 role-playing cards that relate with working together/solving problems. Students can role-play each situation and talk about how they would feel if they were in the situation.

This fully digital Google Slides™ meet the school counselor lesson helps school counselors introduce themselves and their role as the school counselor to their students. During this Google Slides™ meet the counselor activity, students will learn the school counselor's five superpowers and how school counselors use their powers to help students all around the school.
Students will also learn that there are many people on campus who have super skills they can use to help students. This activity helps students differentiate when the school counselor is best for the job and when a different superhero on campus may be a better fit.
There are 60 slides included that challenge students to write or drag and drop their answers as they learn more about the school counselor's roles and responsibilities.
