Some of the questions require students to put their feet in the shoes of the character who was experiencing confusion. When students are reading each story, they will review feeling confused, what happens when they feel that way, and what happens to someone when they are confused. They can also use strategies learned in this social story throughout their day to day routine. The vocabulary word confusion is reviewed and discussed, the questions: how do you feel when you are confused is asked and how can you make yourself feel better if you feel confused. The 2022 movie, Turning Red is a coming of age movie for preteens and teens. The movie discusses problem solving skills, following rules, working together, growing up, finding yourself, making decisions, and being a good friend. The comprehension questions in this product relate with the movie as well as students own experiences. Students can answer these comprehension questions as they watch the movie or after they have finished the movie. At the end of the packet, there are several slides that give friendship scenarios and how students would handle each of those.

When a loved one passes away, making sense of the grief that comes as part of this experience can often be difficult and overwhelming.
