We've been learning about Growth Mindset and dreaming about all of the things that we cannot do...yet... but want to work hard to accomplish someday! This product includes 1 social story that focuses on spreading rumors. Vocabulary that is reviewed and discussed in depth include - spreading rumors, positive self-esteem, negative self-esteem, gossiping, reputation, and the expression - fight fire with fire.

Students will also learn about the following - how spreading rumors can impact self-esteem, how you will feel when you have positive self-esteem, how you will feel when you have negative self-esteem, how to build self-esteem, how one would feel if a rumor was spread about them or how one would feel if they spread a rumor and the person that spread a rumor found out, the negative impacts of spreading rumors, what to do if someone spreads a rumor about you, and 1 social story that focuses on a student spreading a rumor about another student supposedly cheating off his test.

The social story includes comprehension questions throughout. Some of the questions require students to put their feet in the shoes of the characters. This product encourages students to understand the negative impacts spreading rumors may have, how someone would feel if a rumor was spread about them, and a mature way to how to handle a situation when a rumor is spread.
