In this product, students will learn about the Missouri Compromise, Compromise of 1850, and North and South Notes and Review. Vocabulary covered: raw materials, free states and slave states as of 1820, trains, factories, Eli Whitney, cotton, and slaves. A vocabulary review is included as well as a fill in the blank vocabulary review that includes a key.
Students will learn about the Missouri Compromise, Compromise of 1850, and North and South Notes and Review. The United States government will be initially reviewed to review who Congress and the Senate is, but the House of Representatives and the three branches of government. The North and South are reviewed in this product that includes the years between 1820 - 1860.
The North: What was used at this time to run machines, who owned machines, how machines were powered, how and why cities started to develop, how raw materials and factories relate with one another, the use of the railroad brought factory products to people, working conditions in factories, and changes in cities that took place
The South: Cotton was growing on plantations and farms in the South, who worked on these plantations, how plantations grew and who worked on these farms, who invented the cotton gin, what the cotton gin did and how it was different from removing seeds by hand and how much time was saved, what cotton was known for in the South, who worked on plantations and how they were treated, and the kind of work slaves were required to do in the South.
The Missouri Compromise:
In 1820, how many states were free states and how many states were slave states. The argument that the North and South had with each other about wanting Missouri to be on their side and why, what people wanted in the North and what people wanted in the South after the Missouri Compromise, why the North and South were divided, which states became free states and slaves states between 1820-1850, the Compromise of 1850 and what it entailed, and when slavery ended.
The notes are adapted to meet your student's individual learning needs. Throughout the product, after each page of notes is reviewed, students will answer short answer comprehension questions. At the end of the product, students are provided with a review that includes multiple choice questions and short answer questions.

Why is Martin Luther King's birthday celebrated as a national holiday, and who was he? Learn how Martin Luther King Jr. transformed American culture forever by watching this incredibly educational Kids Academy film about this remarkable guy. You will learn about his battle against segregation, a legislation in the United States that prohibited individuals with different skin tones from traveling, studying, or dining together. Some individuals felt it was normal to treat Black people badly, despite the fact that slavery had been abolished over a century earlier. In order to combat this inequality, Martin Luther King began using both words and nonviolent means, and he was successful!

There are various activities for your students to do before, while, and after watching the video. The lesson last 90 minutes and it is designed mostly for Elementary school students. In this product, students will learn about the 19th Amendment, what it is, the timeline as to how the 19th Amendment was put into effect and just how long it took. Information about the process it took and how it was rejected by different parts of the government is shared ranging from 1878 to the November 1920 election, what the women's suffrage movement was, who was involved, and what they did, President Woodrow Wilson, Harry Burn, Senator Aaron A. Sargent, Ellen Clark Sargent, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, and Susan B. Anthony and the role that each of them had in the passing of the 19th Amendment, students will learn about Congress - the Senate and the House of Representatives, and will briefly learn about the 3 Branches of Government to help students understand which branch helped pass the 19th Amendment, students will briefly learn about who was involved in World War I and what happened at the end of World War I, why women became involved in World War I, what their roles were in World War I, what jobs women had during this time, and how this lead to the 19th Amendment. Students will also learn about how the 19th Amendment in 1869 was different from 1920 and why, how the Voting Rights Act of 1965 was important as well as the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, students will also learn about when women could vote in 15 states from 1869 - 1918, and the first states to ratify the 19 Amendment.

This product was made for students to learn the following: that different people come to America, the first Americans - Indigenous Peoples, review of directions when going from one place to another in the world, what the first Americans ate, where they lived, what was used to build houses, how they found food, how they made tools and clothes, the first explorers, who the Vikings were, where the Vikings traveled, what colonies, a colony, and colonists are, how colonists and Indigenous Peoples lived on the same land, slaves, brief discussion of the Civil War, and immigrants coming to America to start a new life.
Adapted notes are provided along with an independent review after each slide. Students will be required to fill in the blanks using a key, answer short answer questions without a key, complete multiple choice questions, and look at a graph and answer short answer questions.
Students can complete the review independently, with support, or it can be used as an assessment as well.

Students will also learn about the French and Indian War, who it was between, why it happened, who won the war, where France had colonies and where Great Britain had colonies, the Ohio River Valley, land east and west of the Mississippi River, the importance of beaver pelts and what they were used for, Great Britain implemented a tax that they wanted the Colonists to pay on certain goods, what a tax is, why the colonists were unhappy about this tax, the goods that were taxed, Parliament and the laws they wrote regarding tax, The Stamp Act, what it was, what it required Colonists to do, how the Colonists felt about this, and what the Colonists did to stop this tax are reviewed. Students will learn about other laws that the Parliament passed that had to do with purchasing goods such as tea and paper, what the colonists did about this, and how they felt about this tax, The Boston Massacre, what caused it, where it happened, why it happened, how the Colonists felt and why, what the American Revolution is, what happened after the Boston Massacre with Parliament, The Boston Tea Party, what the Boston Tea Party was, what happened during the Boston Tea Party, how Parliament responded to the actions of the Colonists, The Boston Port Act and the Quartering Act - laws that were imposed by the Parliament, and how the Colonists felt about these laws, the American Revolution - where it started, Minutemen and how they helped during the American Revolution, when the American Revolution began, the first shots of the American Revolution, where the Colonists and the British Soldiers were going and why before and during the American Revolution, Battle at Bunker Hill, what happened during the Battle at Bunker Hill, the Second Continental Congress meeting to discuss needing an army with supplies, the commander - George Washington was chosen to lead the Colonists and why he was chosen for this position, how the Declaration of Independence came about, who was involved with writing the Declaration of Independence, events that led to the Declaration of Independence when looking at a timeline and answering questions pertaining to the timeline are covered. Students will also review Thomas Paine's pamphlet - Common Sense and why he wrote it. A review that includes multiple choice and short answer questions cover a variety of topics covered in this product. This review is located at the back of the product.
The notes are adapted to meet your student's individual learning needs. After reviewing and discussing the notes, they will answer comprehension questions to review what was discussed on previous pages, and a timeline that led to the Declaration of Independence is included, maps that show land east and west of the Mississippi River are included along with a map that shows where the first shots were fired during the American Revolution.

In this product, students will learn how California was controlled by Mexico, who signed the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo and what it meant once it was signed, what territory Mexico gave up, John Sutter - how he was the richest person during this time in California, what he hoped to accomplish, what was built on Sutter's 48,827 acres, why his dream was unsuccessful, and what caused this to happen, who found the first piece of gold in the American River, who James Marshall was and why he was hired by Sutter, Sam Brennan and what he did to become very rich, how much money Brennan earned, who the 49ers were and what they did to try to become rich, and traveling across the country in search of gold - Oregon-California Trail or an ocean voyage - the difficulties that were faced taking both of these routes. Students will also learn about where the Oregon-California Trail started and where it ended, the route that was taken if travelers on the East coast wanted to travel West and the continent they would travel around, what travelers had to do/and how long they had to wait for their turn to look for gold, how many people searched for gold in 1848 and 1849, how searching for gold was easy and then it became more challenging as more time went on, how and why the population of California increased and decreased during and after the California Gold Rush, how much money in gold was found in the American River during The California Gold Rush.
Vocabulary reviewed, but is not limited to the following: merchant, sawmill, gold panning, 49ers, and bandits along the Oregon-California Trail.

They will expand upon the first settlements in Jamestown and Plymouth, and will dive into learning about the 13 colonies, students will learn how the 13 colonies are alike, how William Penn helped the colonists and how he formed a relationship with the Indigenous Peoples, the New England Colonies, where they were located, the biggest city in the New England Colonies, how farming was difficult in this area and why, the short growing season of crops, and how they found food, how people earned a living in this colony, the Middle Colonies and how they had rich farmlands available to them, what kinds of crops were grown in this area, the kinds of jobs that people had, why beavers were so important in this colony and what they did with their fur, Philadelphia and how it was developing so much quicker than New York and why, William Penn and what he did when he started the colony of Pennsylvania, what made New York's population increase and how it became the biggest city in the Middle Colonies, the Southern Colonies, the biggest city being Charleston, the kinds of goods that came into the Charleston harbor, what plantations were, the kinds of jobs that were on plantations, the crops that were grown, how plantations needed many slavery, brief introduction to slavery and how they were forced to work on plantations in the south, the frontier, the western edge of the 13 colonies, how entire families needed to work to survive and why, and the kinds of work that frontier settlers needed to do.
The notes are adapted to meet your student's individual learning needs. After reviewing and discussing the notes, there are fill in the blank questions with the missing vocabulary words and a key to help locate answers. This product includes slides that are made up of the states that begin with the same letter on each slide, as these states can be confusing. For example: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, and Arkansas as well as their abbreviations so students can see the difference. Slides that show states that don't have any similarities, like Georgia, and states that have two words, like New York, are also addressed.
Each slide is provided with the state name and the abbreviation. Students can attempt to fill in the blanks of the abbreviations that were reviewed on each previous slide as well. This helps students to learn the spelling, abbreviations, and location of each state. This product can be used for students who benefit from having material adapted and it can also be used with students who are on grade level as well.

The example state research report includes 7 slides - cover page, where is your state?, facts of the state, symbols of the state, interesting fact about the state, state flag, and why did you write about your state? The example provides students with a foundation of what is expected when they complete their own state research report. This product was developed for students who benefit from adapted instruction. This product can also be used with students who are on grade level as well.

This product was made for students to learn the following:
In this product, students will learn about the Oregon Trail Westward Expansion. Vocabulary covered: pioneers, frontier, forty-niners, California Gold Rush, pioneer life, and The Oregon Trail along with a fill in the blank vocabulary review. At the end of the vocabulary review, a key is provided with the answers to all vocabulary words that are presented to help students fill in the missing blanks.
Students will learn about the westward expansion. What the west was in 1830, the causes of diseases and death along the Oregon Trail - scurvy, yellow fever, dysentery, cholera, typhoid, and wagon mishaps. how Indigenous Peoples that pioneers met on their journey west were helpful, facts about the covered wagons that were used to travel out west, what was packed in the covered wagons and why, and who the forty-niners were and what they were searching for.
The notes are adapted to meet your student's individual learning needs. Throughout the product, after each page of notes is reviewed, students will answer short answer comprehension questions. At the end of the product, students are provided with a review that includes multiple choice questions and short answer questions.
