Are you having trouble incorporating the TCI textbook, online slide deck, and student workbook into one nicely flowing lesson? I was struggling with this same dilemma in my classroom. I decided to get to work and add all of the materials together into a lesson guide that includes all of the important parts including page numbers for the textbook and workbook as well as slide names for the slide deck. I print these lesson guides front to back and put them in sheet protectors in a science binder. When I teach a lesson, I remove the sheet protector and have the entire resource in hand to feel confident that I'm asking students to be in the right place. This was a game changer for my classroom as I didn't dread teaching science anymore.

In this product, students will learn what vascular and nonvascular plants are, how they differ from one another, where they are found, and what they contain. Students will also learn about plant stems and why they are important to a plant, how they benefit a plant, help a plant grow, transport sugars through the plant, etc. Students will also learn, in detail how stems from plants contain 2 important kinds of tissue - phloem and xylem. Students will learn that water moves upward in plants because of three things - root pressure, cohesion, and transpiration. Students will also learn how gravity is beneficial in plants.

Throughout the product, students will complete short answer comprehension questions, fill in the blank questions using a key, labeling a diagram based on what was presented on phloem and xylem and another diagram on transpiration, evaporation, root pressure, cohesion, and gravity.

WHAT IS A DIORAMA?

A diorama is a 3D scene designed to depict a particular topic or concept. These miniature scenes are assembled using various materials layered together, often within a shoebox or similar container, to visually represent different aspects of the chosen subject.

Students can construct a diorama by cutting, coloring, painting, and gluing different components inside the box. This allows them to create models that convey specific scenarios like historical events or animals in their habitats. In this product, students will learn about food chains. Notes and review have been adapted to meet students' individual learnings needs. Students will review the process of photosynthesis, chlorophyll, and how plants made food. Students will then learn that producers make their own food by using energy from the sun that is changed into chemical energy. Students will also learn about consumers and how they get energy. In this product, rocks and minerals are reviewed. The three kinds of rocks - sedimentary, metamorphic, and igneous rocks are reviewed. Students will learn how each rock is formed, where minerals are found, the percentage of igneous rock that makes up the Earth's crust, examples of each type of rock are provided, how sedimentary rocks form, sediments that are found in our environment that make up sedimentary rocks, students will examine layers in rock and will answer comprehension questions when looking at the rock, the percentage of rock that covers the Earth's land, how weathering, transportation, precipitation, erosion, and deposition lead to the creation of sedimentary rocks and what each of these are. How sediment is carried is also reviewed, a list of sediments that make up sedimentary rock are presented, and students will also be provided with a chart showing the different layers of sediment in the ground, students will also see a chart that shows how sedimentary rocks are formed, how metamorphic rocks are made, where morph and meta come from, how rocks change, and a diagram of the rock cycle is also presented. Students will be required to label the rock cycle in this product as well. At the end of this product, students will complete a multiple choice and short answer review.

Throughout the product, students will answer short answer comprehension questions to ensure comprehension after reviewing notes.
